Old thread but new idea. As I am now leaving my house and saying goodbye
to my beautiful Squeezebox music, it just hit me!
We could use a mobile Squeezebox application to use in the car. We'd
never have to leave the Squeezebox experience behind.
What do you think?
I know that Apple limits the rate at which you can stream, but I would
vote for a pseudo-stream option where I either load up my iPhone ahead
of time (a la iTunes) or let it buffer for a while to accomplish the
same result. Then be able to output at something like VBR 0. I got a

It works with iPeng and you can also set a higher limit for the bitrate
(there's a Bitrate limiting menu in the player settings for iPeng
playback.
It's bending Apple's rules a bit (by default it's set to the 128kbps
limit for 3G) but so far they didn't complain.

What I really miss and want is the ability of squeezebox to pause and
rewind live internet radio and to schedule recordings. Hope that it
will do radio just like what a PVR could do to TV channels. It should
be easy for logitech to add that function to the media server.
I've been pretty happy with Slimdevices for many years. My Duet hardware
works flawlessly as do the booms and various revisions of classics
around the house. Only recently has my enjoyment been reduced by the

the fact that nowhere I can find a list of active alarms and when they
will trigger. I would have expected this on the stand-by clock screen,
somewhere below the alarm bell icon.
Player Settings Alarm Clock, all set Alarms are listed. You can
move Alarm Clock folder to your Home menu for easier access.
Might check with the author of the Custom Clock applette, maybe that
person can add the next scheduled alarm to the clock screen.

I'm actually quite happy with my Squeezebox setup, I spent a lot of time
getting it so that it is pretty low maintenance, especially important
since my son was born I'm more inclined just to listen to music and my
tinkering/forum posting has dropped dramatically.

Native simple support for multiple libraries.
Support for basic Spotify rather than just Premium.
A statement from Logitech on the Squeezebox road map, assuming

- built-in playback statistics and dynamic playlists based on those
statistics, like TrackStat but built-in;

I've used MusicIP and don't care for it, but I've grown to love
MoodAgent from the Spotify app. I really like the mixes it comes up

The most annoying thing - and this not unique to Sqeezebox in any way -
is that iTunes beats it hands-down in the creation and use of playlists.
The Squeezebox implementation is based on the assumption, I assume, that
Squeezebox users don't really need such a simple interface - they can

About the only thing that might be of interest to me is a Touch 2.
Something with a bit bigger screen, maybe a bit more robust at being
it's own server, and the ability to display on a TV or monitor. The way
I think it could make great strides for the simplification of use, is a

I agree with improving the touch's USB and SD card slot. I have problems
with the scanning and trying to use the internal server. You should be
able to copy folders from the LMS server computer to an SD card and it
should work without waiting forever for the scan to complete.
