I don't do much in the way of web publishing -- I'm much more into backend
stuff -- but I have a question in light of the recent thread of how to
best generate html for lessons. I'm curious to understand why pages are
written in md which is then converted to html vs. directly writing in
Notepad++ is a nice beginner's choice with a more user-friendly GUI
(graphical user interface) but it is lightweight (fewer plugins) and
Windows only.
Sublime is a lot more robust -- it has language-specific packages, it can
integrate with git, and do a lot of other cool stuff. It also has a bit
