One more thing...non of the voltages on Q7 seem to change as I
Garey,
Yep, I'm still up and working on this baby...
OK, one other thing I found:
Resistance checks at V7:
Pin 6 slowly goes up to 4.8K instead of being 15K like the book says
Pin 7 slowly goes up to 4.6K...pretty close to the book
I have checked a lot of resisters in both the atrea of Q7 V7
Garey, Mike others as well,
The saga continues...
I lifted the lead of the Q7 base coupling cap ( the .1) and even tried
a new one of .1 and ,47..
Q7 voltages are:
Base = .5v
Emitter = 0v ( .003)
Collector = 18.5v IS IT SUPPOSD TO BE THAT HIGH?? Don't think so.
Audio at 12:00 id just
buying you 2 cups of coffee at Dayton (Or something better if you
want)

Congrats, Lee.
If you're curious about the failure mode of the bad transistor you can
mail it to me and I will put
If you have one of the band crystals off, and you don't want to put up
with it...Just get a new one for $20.95 each.
Puts it right back om the money.

If I may add...Yes International has excellant service, seems they get
the crystal 'ON'
and they charge only $20.95 each...takes about 2 weeks to get them
after ordering.
I have got some used ones...paid $12.00 - $20.00 and they were OFF
frequency more than I like...FWIW.
So, new for me

Terry,
Power up the PS...check all voltages.
DO THIS WITHOUT THE AC-4 HOOKED TO THE RADIO,
Especially the bias voltage???
Be careful.

Garey,
Hi...
I was just reading a post you made on reduced drive to the L-4B from
the T-4any.
You mentioned having the load at 0.
Are you talking the T-4any or the L-4B as to the loading on 0...I
suspect it is the T-4any.
What if we load up the T-4any to a lower power out by putting the
