Two screws on the sides at each location holds the cover plate on. The
filters just plug in. Kind of hard to do and is important to line the

Darn new QTH...I am finding a BIG problem, here.
I have a pulsing RF noise about every 40-50 KC. If it were audio I
would describe it as the sound of an old pump, (maybe 10 times a
second) or something. It does top and go...tonight about every 10-15
minutes or so...ot exactly though. It's
have an answer or jut say tough cookies..what to do???

Should not be...on the Main panel the ground and neural are connected
together. On a subpanel the ground, neutral and hot are carried from
the main panel.

OK, It seems like Garey's suggestion is the easiest and it
workstake a jumper lead, hook it to the antenna jack. drag it
across a large file slowly...it generates nice ignition like noise.
The NB does reduce it quite a bit.

I just did one with that upgrade kit. Worked super. It will take a
while. It is actually fun.
Work slowly, carefully and when your not tired around high voltage.
If your checking voltages live, keep one hand in your pocket (and don't

It's not his fault Drake changed the colors of the wiring around.

Got the C line and L-4B connected today and it works,

Seems like it is not working right.

I prefer a solid state rely to protect the on/off switch and

to run it with 25 watts drive.
Also, I don't want to run my L-4B at full throttle either (800-1,000

A good working condition AC-4 NOT rebuilt is about $60-$90...
If it has the AC-4R then it should be another $75-100 IMHO.

Well...there is a simple solution to this parts issue..at least it is a
partial solutionjust look for a parts chassis.
A non working or broken radio and then keep it for parts.
Ones in poor cosmetic contidion go pretty cheap.

You will need to warp them back.
I have done it several times with success.
I use a heat gun...you need to be VERY careful as to not overheat them.
I use cool water after the un-warping to help set the plastic.
It is possible to ruin the dials...so go at this only if you really
want to.

WOW is it hot here in Northern IN.
Question...anyone have an idea as to why the R-4c changes freq. about
100 cycles UP when I turn the T-4XC off??
Everything works FB, just kind of bugs me.

If you have a scope...look at the voltage to the PTOIt may be
moving around. I assume you have a re-built AC-4 you are using?
