we want to use the DSpace OAI-Webapp but only our metadata should be

'[dspace]/config/modules/oai.cfg' you could customise the
'oai.identifier.prefix'.

an easy way is to rename the ROOT directory in your Tomcat directory.
Afterwards create a soft link named ROOT to your preferred UI directory.

a simple way to update metadata is using the "export metadata" (UI) from
a collection to csv, edit the csv file and reimport this. But you could
create a function collection2items alike the other functions, too.
For example:
