Most 'simplistic' propagation programs do NOT do a good job of predicting Long Path (or Low Band) propagation. I find that Terminator Maps such as The DX Edge or the MAP protion of W6EL Prop combined with a knowledge of how Low Band Propagation works is much more useful.
