They will show up in the control panel and the port number can be changed there to any other unused number so you can probably with a little fiddling around get them all in sequence without skips. i.e. COM1,2,3,4 in a row. If you have ever done this sort of thing in W98 you will come to like XP

To auto-logon, look at TweakUI which you can d/l from Microsoft as part of their Power Toys. It allows you to specify a name and password for auto logon. Then put a shortcut to DX4WIN in your startup folder and you will see XP start and then DX4WIN shortly thereafter. 73 Stan, N3HS
