I think the problem, Liz, is with the hyberbole and assumptions in your
response. No one is saying there are no challenges or obstacles, but
many of us weathered the experience, and frankly, our recollections are
based on that experience, not some rose-colored memory of idyllic
parenthood.
Martin,
I don't have the answers to your questions but I can provide a little
background that may help. You live in an area that has no native
earthworms (this may be true for Susannah, whose message you
forwarded, as well). All of the earthworms you are seeing are
non-native, some invasive. It

Thank you to everyone for so many good climate change video

For what it is worth, my garden and compost are wriggling with worms this

his dearth, is due to the warm, almost snowless winter we experienced here in
central Oklahoma. Our soil hardly froze all winter, and when

In my experience, it all depends on the country and how easy funding

each have their good and bad points on that respect. Fore example,

consume tree sap and tiny insects, but there may be more blossoms out there
than you think. This Week at Hilton Pond we've selected five

A large number of students on our campus do Study Abroad semseters. I
currently have two options, Denmark and Costa Rica. Are there other
options for students with interests in ecology or environmental science?

One problem not addressed here so far is that science is very competitive
