Does anyone make and sell a Y adapter for the FT-817 that allows a CAT

Hi Dave,
I noted your 10 Nov. discussion as to filter widths.
Are you nstill in possesion of my old K2 S/N 02763 ? Is this the one
you have modified with the 2.6 Kc. width ?
Just curious.

Hi Wayne,
There a reason for concern for eliminating the choke in the antenna
circuit. I noticed that there is no DC path to ground to eliminate the
chance of static potenital build up on an antenna from discharging a high
voltage into the rig. This may be the reason why some builders have

Don,
Just to clarify - does this include the mod to L1 on the KIO2 AUXBUS board
as explained on the KK7P web site? I found a contradiction to this mod on
KI6WX site. (Was or is there a possible current draw problem through L1)?
Thanks in advance,

Hi all,
Sorry for the bandwidth, but I tried to give this book away locally and on
the air, but found no takers. I've received so much help from this group, I
thought I might try to help someone else out.

Replacing L1 on the auxbus mod board can't hurt anything...

Hey Lyle,
I didn't think it would hurt to replace L1 - just thought maybe the problem
went away with my version (rev C) of the KPA100.
BTW - very nice explanation of separating the K2/KPA100 - I ordered the
parts yesterday to split mine. Thanks for the nicely detailed process.

Dave,
There isn't a contradiction between what Lyle and John describe. Lyle was
taking a conservative approach to the issue. Nothing wrong with that. John
did some extensive tests and found it wasn't necessary. Both approaches are
equally correct.
Being lazy, and after reading John's test
Joe,
I guess contradiction was a little strong ;-) I just wasn't sure if the
later revs of the KPA100 eliminated the issue entirely.
I'm somewhat lazy as well and adhere to the KISS principal (most days) so I
was leaning with not replacing it. But then again, I'm pretty conservative

I was going through some stuff and ran across a brand new K2 QRP top cover.
I built my second K2 with the KPA100 immediately, so I never built up the
QRP top. This is the sheet metal only, no parts attached.
If anyone could use this, send me your address and I'll send it to you.

Hi all,
Suppose you were an RTTY station (FSK, narrow shift, in the HF bands),
and you were called by a CW station. Assuming that this didn't annoy
you too much, would you rather the CW station be on your mark or space
frequency?
I've made one cross-mode QSO this way, so far, and I want to
I'm going from memory dating back many years, but I think RTTY stations
normally ID in cw by sending cw with the key down on the space
frequency, and key up on mark. Sticking with that convention might make
it a little easier to copy for them due to familiarity of the tones. I'm
not sure too
And I thought I was the only one crazy enough to use my KX-1 to listen to
RTTY and PSK-31 ...
I never thought of calling them on cw..but I don't have enough RTTY
experience to know which tone is better.

A word of caution ...
I severely damaged the RX antenna RF stage of my FT-1000D due
to RF coupling from the TX antenna (1KW, 160M) into the RX antenna.
I later measured the induced RF voltage with a 'scope ... it was many
volts. Some commercial (marine) receivers have lamps in series with
