Summary:
The K2/100 does have a built in SWR meter. (Via the tune button)
The K2 (standard version) can be addapted to have an SWR meter or it can be
used with options (ATUs...) to show the SWR.

Just plug it in the rear mic socket and select rear connector, Hi with
Bias, if drive level is too high try rP.L bIAS instead of rP.H bIAS

I finally finished my XV50, got it debugged and working. Now there is one more
problem/question.
I setting up the configuration, I set the low power out of the K60XV to 1.0 MW.
When I have everything connected, and operating, the display shows that the K2
is only putting our about 0.3
the adaptor has 1/4 for PPT and a 1/8 for the mic - to an 8 pin Foster
the headset has a 1/8 for mic and a stereo 1/8 for phones
absolutely brilliant with the K3 and it's fantastic vox

This is the only mic I have in the shack. A Heil Proset using the adapter.
You can make one quite easily. In fact, you could leave off the foot switch
PTT if you are just using VOX. Works very well with the K3. I think I am
using an HC-5 too. Don;t really remember.

The adaptor that I received with my Heil Proset K2 does not work at all with my
K3 on the front panel connector. However, the mic when plugged into the rear
panel works perfectly. Just adding this to the info you've already received.

I too have just been using a cheap computer mic with good results that I
bought for $2. Just follow the directions as described by Brendan and you
should be good to go. However, if you want PTT , you will have to use an

Yes, the K2 has a Squelch feature. It's accessed through the
secondary menu (tap MENU, then tap DISPLAY). Squelch (SLCH) is the

I believe the adapter supplied with the Elecraft Pro Set is a true Kenwood
adapter. On the K2 you wired the radio for whatever microphone you wanted.
If you wanted to use a Kenwood microphone setup you wired the K2
accordingly. That would put bias on pin 5. The Elecraft Pro
