Good Morning, Yeah, not sure what happened but appears when in
high power mode over 10 watts power control does not work either.
It gives full output. I just replaced diodes D1 and D2 1N5711s but
the problem continues the same. Before I get any deeper into this does
anyone have any experience with
The problem is the terminology, John.
In this case FSK and PSK should have been read as ASCII and
Morse code. The translation from ASCII to Varicode to PSK and
vice versa as well as ASCII etc first to 5 bit Baudot and then to
FSK is done by software in the radio itself, as opposed to software
Sorry that should have been D16 and 17. I'm going to look at the
circuit again and again. 73

I had a failure of the EL5146C op amp. You might check it. In my case, mine
shorted internally, which brought the +5 volt supply to zero, which made the K2
think the KPA100 was not installed. But, yours might have opened or something.
I think D16 D17, as well as the EL5146C might be pretty
Hi all,
My KRX3 is on the truck and due tuesday. Quick question: I will be running
the main receiver on a receive only antenna
fed via the KXV3A and the subrx via its bnc aux. These antennas are quite
close to the xmit antennas. Should I use
any sort of attenuation and/or external TR switch
Mike,
Check the power control 5 watts requested. If you actually get more
than 10 watts output then either the diodes (I understand you replaced
them) or KPA100 U6 may be the cause - there are a few other
possibilities too.
During a TUNE, you should have voltage into U6 pin 3, and

Steve,
the subRX of the K3 has its protection (an rf triggered relay if the
power coming into the rx is too high).
I've used the K3-KPA500 on a beam and I had a diversity vertical

It all depends on the coupling of the antennas. Try

the relays in the K3 quickly isolate the subrx from too
Jim and Steve,
While the COR will do its job, I recommend that you not abuse it. If you
hear the COR operating during transmit, it would be wise to provide some
external switching (relay) to remove the RX antenna while transmitting
or insert an attenuator.
Of course, the best solution is to

What happens if you plug the Bluetooth transmitter into the speaker jack

I am having problems with the P3 SVGA being sluggish and periodically locking

I have this happen occasionally, but only when I am transmitting with the

I saw a suggestion somewhere for using a small grain-of-wheat bulb across
the 2nd antenna's lead as you gradually increase transmit power. If I
remember correctly, the bulb I used was a 5 V @ 50 mA lamp, typical of those
used as LCD screen illuminators.
I tried that with a 600 ' Beverage
I seem to remember it is not recommended to attempt to use a usb hub in
the P3's SVGA USB port, can't find it now that I am looking for it. :-/
my question:
would this hub with on/off power switches for each usb port work?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0J2-000N-9
it says:
Hi Sam,
The USB port on the P3/SVGA does not support hubs.

You did not indicate if the feedback is in the internal K3 speaker or
an external speaker. I have no problem with my K3 using an ext. spkr

I do get audio feedback with my KX3 because I am using cheap computer

Hi all,
The KX3 is primarily an HF-6 meter radio. But it does have useful sensitivity
in the 500-1700 kHz AM broadcast band (or BCB for short).
I'm looking for a few testers for a new firmware release (rev 1.84) that can
improve AM-band sensitivity by as much as 10 to 20 dB for stations below
I am sorry.
I didn't specify that this was not Elecraft who was involved. I was asking
a generic question about experiences vs. what I have had in two cases. One
was not an issue but I consider it just plain lucky that the other arrived
back undamaged. Thanks for all the comments. Again,
