Heinz,
This is exactly how Don wired my K2 to key an external amp.
The RCA jack is mounted as Don describes.
It works. What more is there to say?
I forget what the voltage and current ratings are for the 2N7000, but as I

Heinz,
If you have the K60XV option installed in the K2, yes K60XV J2 pin 2
will key an amplifier like the KXPA100.
The only difficult part is to find a place for a connector on the rear
panel. There is a place near the key jack where you can mount an RCA
jack and not interfere with any
What kind of T-R keying circuit is necessary in the K2 (with K60XV installed
for 60m band usage, no XVTRs connected) to operate the KXPA100 amplifier?

b) Is a keying circuit like these necessary?

I spent more time than I would like to admit trying to figure out why there
was no output when trying to transmit digital modes from the internal sound

That is why I've begged several times for a firmware change to make VOX gain
saved per mode.
I do use VOX on RTTY and SSB and with a lot of fussing with soundcard levels
have it more-or-less set so all modes use about the same VOX gain.
Unfortunately, IMHO anyway, I think VOX gain should be

I am trying to set up WSPR and having trouble in transmit. Receive is fine.
I have set the TX to the recommend freq, I have tried different power
settings. When the radio goes into TX mode I get a steady tone for the
duration of the TX.
The LDG 1000pro show 10W out but now swr shows on scale.
I use VOX for my SSB operating. Thus if I were to use it for digital modes I
would need to change the settings. And then set it back for SSB. With CAT
that is set in the software as I outlined. Set it and forget it.
