Yes, and what I neglected to mention as a warning to new users is that the
barrel is ALWAYS hot. Care must be taken when laying it down as to WHERE you

I believe that up until my last (the latest) firmware update my K3 had the
ability to send CW whilst listening in SSB mode. However I have lost that
ability and cannot find any menu or config setting which
I wonder why.

I suspect the reason some are experiencing not working one day and
working the next day is that they are overlooking the requirement to
reboot the K3 following each firmware upgrade (just like a computer,
which it is).

Can't comment about other amps, but running the K3 barefoot (or tuning
an external ATU) with the Yaesu Quadra merely requires toggling the
Quadra's OPERATE switch off. Toggle it back on to use the amp.
