Sadly Elecraft has been unbelievably coy about these items. Sure you
can go to an Hamvention and look at one and apparently Eric has now

Not plugged into the wrong socket on the RF board is it? The one you
want is near the front right hand side not half way down the board,
aux 12v or something like that from memory. A common mistake when
reassembling.

the power company here has had to shove up the price per kWh to about 27c

All I do is common the individual power leads to the K2 and external
KPA/KAT at the power supply. Seems the simplest thing to do and ensures
the correct power up sequence. No diodes required, no voltage drop on the
KPA lead passed through to K2. Things can be made too complicated,

Didn't need the option the solder to them.
