Unless Heil has changed their lineup, the Goldline does not have an HC-4 and
an HC-5 element. This cartridge lineup is in the HM-10 Dual mic, generally
a little cheaper than the Goldline.
The Goldlines are listed as GM-4 or GM-5 or lately the GM-5.1. These mics

Please, WRONG, No.
I made reference to desk mic stands with PTT NOT Desk mics. The point was
to source a stand for inexpensive alternatives to the expensive Heil
Goldline style mics that need a stand. Radio Shack and othes sell mics like
this for very reasonable prices but the only source of a
I had this before when I forgot to turn on my Power Supply and tried to run
100 Watts from a dying battery. If the voltage gets low it will error and I
think this is the message. Check power source, and connectors. Poor crimps
on Power Poles, can be troublesome.
Good Luck...

To solve the shutdown with power failure, I propose using a dual-diode
switch and a battery source of power. Even a pack of 8 C or D cells
will keep it alive for receive for long enough to power down the radio.

My experience is that the DVR has almost perfect reproduction of the audio.
I have not noticed any unusual sounds, nothing that was not in the original
input.
Note, if you are going to record you CQ and/or EXCHANGE, turn OFF or

Also, as you get setup for a contest, go thru the bands you'll be using and

matter. If you think you want the DVR, you might consider that with the
initial build, as it requires removal of the front panel. But on the advice
Hi,
I just rec'd my second CM500 from Amazon. I was about to make a connector
for the front panel and thought I'd try the Heil adapter just to see if it
would work. I plugged in the adapter, and the CM500 and put the K3 in test
mode. Switched the meter to read ALC/cmp. I then set the mic
