Jerry, The best way to recover is to remove the plastic from the P1 body and then remove the pins from the board one at a time. You may be able to slide the plastic bar off, but if not, break it with your cutters. Clean up with solder wick, and if solder remains in the holes, a heated

You do not lack the skill needed, but you will need a new connector! You can get one from Elecraft. Cut the old one off with your flush-cutting wire cutters. Just cut through the plastic. Then remove the pins one at a time. Clean the holes with solder wick. Install the new one. That's it.

Dave, I believe you are overthinking things (or looking at the wrong P5). Unless you have installed a ty-wrap on the speaker lead and the KIO2 cable quite close to the AUX board there should be no interference. The P5 that the speaker plugs into is on the RF Board, not on the Control Board.
