The waiting finally got to me and I asked Lisa for an anticipated
shipping date. Her reply was that my first run, deposit-paid order for
a kit K3 placed on 3 May and acknowledged 5 May should ship in early
November. So you're probably right.

I am a bit puzzled by the reference on page 36 of the Owner's Manual
which states that USB is the only mode allowed on this band when
referring to the U.S. 60-metre channel assignments.
Would someone please confirm that the K3 will in fact operate on other

I have searched the email archivesbut have not found an answer to this
question about the KAT-100 Tuner.
When the SWR to the antenna is 1:1 without the tuner(and the KAT100 is in
line) does the KAT100 figure that there is no issue and goes to a mode or point

Zerobeat Ham Forums:
The KAT100 does not have a relay to bypass the LC circuits. So, with
an existing match, it still needs to tune out its own impedances in
order to operate properly. If you know that the antenna is already
matched, you should tune the KAT100 into a dummy load, then use the
settings it works
Lee,
The KAT100 (note no dashes in Elecraft model numbers - except for the
N-Gen :-) ) does not automatically go to a bypass mode. If you tune it
into a 50 ohm resistive load, you may find it tunes to some small
inductance and capacity in-circuit and may actually increase the SWR a

It's available now, Gordon. There's a statement on the K3 Owner's Manual
Errata sheet that says that the KIO2 Programmer's Reference applies in
general to the K3.
The K3 will operate on all modes on 60 meters. In the US we're limited
to USB.
