I was using a 16 hr charge. At some point during the day, I turned it

Alan,
You do not need any interface. The only thing you need is a soundcard.
The K3 contains isolating transformers on the Line In and Kine Out rear
jacks.
Just connect 2 stereo cables between the soundcard and those jacks. You
can operate with VOX instead of PTT. Set the Data sub-mode to
Hi Joel,
I have seen the message once while I was charging my eneloop batteries using a
16 h charge. I am not completely sure if the KX3 was on, but I think so. As far
as I know, the message occurs when the batteries are getting too warm while
charging, don't know if this is said in the KX3
Hi
I tried everything suggested and there is no difference, I guess a call to

Thanks for all the suggestions

Mike,
It is highly unusual to have a transmit problem on 20 and still have
transmit on 30 meters - those two bands share both the bandpass filter
and the low pass filter.
The fact that you have HiCur messages should point the finger at the Low
Pass Filter.
Are you certain it is receiving
The KXBC3 is simply shutting off the charge current until the cell temperatures
drop back to the 0 to 40 deg. C charging temperature range. Charging will
continue once that happens. (Reference: Elecraft KXBC3 Installation and

I'm happy to report that my SB200 is now online between the K3 and KAT 500.
Used it this weekend at the Texas QSO Party. Driving the amp with about 35

Worked without problems. Thanks for all the comments to my earlier
question.

I will be at the scene of the suspect power supply the end of next week and
will clean the cable and fuse as suggested. QTH is on the Long Beach WA

Maybe it is that simple. I will take my working PS and cable to try

Hi all:
I have my remote gear all working extremely well. I can set up the control

and the results are excellent. I have a nagging bug, however.
Quite frequently, but not always, after I have shut down the K3/0 (which

Thanks for the quick reply and troubleshooting suggestions! I do have the
KPA100 and KAT100 installed so here's what I did:

I ran the KPA500 in the CQWW RTTY contest this weekend. With a drive power
of 15 to 20W from the K3, I kept the KPA500 output between 350 and 400W

degrees on the KAT500 meter. The cooling
Looking over the KXPA100 order information, I wonder, what is controlled
via the RS232 jack (with the KXUSB cable), and what is controlled via the

Are the two jacks on the mid-cord box in the KXPACBL essential to operation
of the KXPA100 with a KX3? Or are they for use
