I use my old J-38 straight key wired to a RCA plug that goes into the PTT jack on the rear of the K3. The advantage is that you don't have to pick it up to use it or put it down to type. Easy to wire up too. Buy an audio cable, lop off one connector, dress the leads out and connect them to the k
