This sounds like a classic ground loop problem where your DX doubler may
not be at the same AC ground potential as the K3s. Are they all

If you enable advanced mode in the utility preferences, you can chose to
only load specific files.
Be careful with this, as DSP, CPU, FPF files etc from a release must all
match the release set. That's why we recommend clicking on the 'load
all files' button.

Yes, this mod adds an adjustable coil to move the newer XV144 crystals
within the +/- 9.9 kHz calibration range of the K3. In most cases it
will pull the crystal far enough to use an offset of zero, but that is
not guaranteed in all cases. There is a place already on the XV144 PCB
