By all visual inspections, it appears to be no shorts anywhere.
Is this normal for T6?

Mike,
I had the same thing happen to me. Unfortunately, I didn't read your post in
time to respond. The K3 audio menu settings are per mode. When I switched to
AM, I had the rear panel

When I got the manual, my thought was Wow. That's BIG. Now I'm
thinking it could easily be three or four times the number of pages to
explain everything in detail. OTOH, this group
the phone modes, yes?
MIC+LIN means Mic and line simultaneously.

Thanks, Oliver, but it's not RF, it's audio. I was testing in 'test'
mode. The solution was supplied by Iain a couple of posts up.
I do have some toroids on order for another problem though.

I've got the preamp, but my antennae have been on the ground since I got
the K3. Going back up this weekend, and I'd definitely like to hear what
people have to say about it, so I'd appreciate the discussion being held
on the reflector.

What cheap/accurate tools are available for K3 construction? I'm aware of

I think I remember a post not too long ago from the guys at Elecraft
that the composition of the material the knobs are made of had been
changed. My rig is SN3539, and so far, no exploding knobs. I'm positive
they'll take care of you.

I ordered mine from Radio Shack, Anti-Static Service Kit , #276-2370.
AFAICR it was around $20.00, and came in just a couple of days. It
includes the wrist strap.
