Hi Kevin,
I am having trouble understanding your situation. Is it a cell or battery?
What do you mean by new product? Was it somehow approved with another product?
Welding tabs to a cell would have no impact on the cell approval and is the
normal way of making the connection.

National standards to be withdrawn.

Hi Jody,
It is stated in OJEU under EN 60950-1 A2.
For radio equipment, the voltage limit of LVD is removed in both R and RED.
Can you point me to where the end product standards and CB Scheme call
Hi Scott,
I actually thought the dow was in October. Where did you see the July date? I
do not believe it is any Directive as most batteries are outside of the scope
of the LVD. You will find in end product standards and it is required for CB
Scheme.

Hi Charlie,
Regardless of NFPA 79 being applicable or not, you will still want to select
another product safety standard as NFPA 70 will not address the product
completely. I do not know enough about the product based on your description
to suggest an appropriate standard.
Best Regards,
Charlie,
As long as the product is certified to UL 61010-1 by a third party that is
accepted by the AHJ, you should be fine. You could also field label it at the
installation site. NFPA 79 would not be needed. The AHJ's are typically
looking for a third party mark. Just make sure the third

Hi Scott,
For CE marking most batteries do not fall under the LVD and therefore are not
directly regulated for safety. However most end product standards will have a
component requirement for EN 62133 (secondary) or EN 60086-4 (primary). If you
plan to apply for CB Scheme on the end the
Hi Pete,
If it is for CB Scheme, that rule was put out by IECEE in 2011 with exemption
to TC108 standards. For others, unless it is Hazardous Location or Intrinsic
Safety, it is probably based on the lab exactly how the situation is handled.

Hi Richard,
Yes, we have been dealing with this for awhile. For China shipments, the
testing must be done by one of the government approved labs. Even as a test
lab, we have to use the government lab down the street. If your shipment does
not have the correct certificate with it, the

I can definitely vouch for ETS as we purchased multiple chambers, support
equipment and integration from them and the installation and schedule was
flawless.

Hi Lauren,
The last rules we were following for Shanghai (not all of China) required
testing to be conducted by the Chinese laboratory. There is an option for
manufacturers to join a costly program requiring audits that would allow
testing to be conducted in house.
