Hello -
Its me again, still having problems ...
So I got Y and Z to jog, seems like the values for
FERROR for the X axis are not the same as those for Y
and Z in the /etc/emc2/sample-configs/m5i20/m5i20.ini
maybe that is not a big deal but I made them all the
same and still no jog on X-axis, get

Oh, well, I'm behind the times, as usual!

Hi All -
I was wondering if any one has tried using the
emclog.tcl script out of 2.0.5 and this:
http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?PWM_Servo_Amplifiers
The script does not seem to be working, maybe I need
to turn on the Debug flags in the INI file ? I don't
really know Tcl/Tk.
I welco
Hi all-
OK, so I think I might have found the answer in the
HAL Docs ...but I welcome further input from the list
members.
Eric:
All of this is already configured correctly in the
m5i20 configuration that is included in 2.0.5, but I
checked it anyway to make sure, thanks for the
response.

Hi all, could I have some comments on the following E-stop circuit idea.
The core idea emerging from thinking about this is to wire dangerous
things in series(wire OR) and use the end result of this in
parallel(wire AND). That way the E-stop chain is cut if device1 OR
device2 OR device 3... fai

John added FF2 a while back.

Ali,
By default, do you mean you are using the configuration files in
/config/m5i20, or something else? One of the things you have to do with the
m5i20 board is to enable the PWM. That is found in the m5i20 configuration
in the m5i20_io.hal file, here:
# Connect amp enables to m5i20 dac enables

make a velocity servo amp with the traditonal ramp generato

I've gotten most of my issues resolve with this project, but I still
have a problem homing the rotary axis. Since the normal 'writer' to the
rotary axis position, stepgen.3.position-cmd, is my own routine
instead of axis.3.motor-pos-cmd, the routines in AXIS/emc don't work.
It requires rea
Hi -
Thanks for the response ...
What I meant was that the power is conncted to the
7i30 motor power connector and it is turned on. The
+5V for the encoders comes from the 50 pin connector
and that is why the encoders will always have power.
So yes the power to the motors is on but the PWM

If you are using an Ubuntu system, you can get the source for the
version of AXIS shipped with emc 2.0.5 with apt:
apt-get source emc2-axis
If you are not using an Ubuntu system, you can get it in tar form:
http://linuxcnc.org/emc2/dists/dapper/emc2/source/emc2-axis_1.4a0-0.2.tar.gz

Hello,
you are downloading the version 2.0.5 from CVS.
However AXIS was added later to the emc2 CVS. You can get that by
changing to:
cvs -z5 -d:ext:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs co -rv2_1_branch -d
emc2-2.0.5 emc2
Warning: that is not a production ready branch. It still needs testing
before we will
Hello everyone,
I have strange problem that I can download emc2 but there is no axis code in
directory.
There was written that AXIS is in EMC2 source code directory.
What I'm doing wrong ?
cvs -z5 -d:ext:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs co -rRELEASE_2_0_5 -d emc2-2.0.5 emc2
