Gentlemen,
The servo amps on my cinci are GETTYS Model N350/N135 33 amp.
These each have a few edge connected boards inserted on them for
different functions.
These are OLD analog boards. I am sure each component board could
use a good tuning. As this is not
Hi All,
Due to some health problems, I didn't power up my emc box the last 2
months and when I did last week, ubuntu wanted to install an update
which I accepted. Maybe stupid of me ...
When I started emc, the X didn't respond anymore and the Y and Z behaved
very erratically. Movement of these

Gentlemen,
Thanks - Dave and Jon - just the info I was looking for. It looks
as if new amps will be cheaper-faster-better.
Cheaper ? No.
Faster? Quite likely.
Better? If the Gettys amp is truly single phase, it is a
disaster, and I think it would cause

Well, I don't know how well these will perform. The Fanuc A06B

conduction pulses, which

My guess is that you edited the default setup files for your
local configuration, instead of making a copy in your user
directory. When the EMC updates were installed, it loaded a
new default config file on top of your edited one.
Hi,
I have a gantry style machine with three axis. The X and Y axis have the
same motor and the same nut and lead screw on each). I am testing the
machine using manually entered commands into AXIS such as:
G01 F80 X1
G01 F80 X0
When manipulating one axis at a time (no cutting, just
Jon and others,
Thanks for the replies.
The configs were in the ~/emc2/configs folder (home directory). So I
guess this is not the problem.
Playing around with the steplen and stepspace parameters does make the
pulses nicer, but steppers still behaving erratic. Although I'm quite
convinced I
Gentlemen,
The Gettys are three phase.
The encoders are 1000 pulses/rev giving 20,000 counts/in on the
linear axes and 2000 counts/deg on the rotary axes.
The Gettys are listed as 33 amp output. This I believe is 100%
duty cycle. I don't think this is peak rating.
I like the idea
Hi All,
did some initial PID tuning with a DC servo motor on the bench (no load)
today. I'm using Jon Elsons servo amplifiers with a m5i20 (hostmot
config with 100MHz clock to enable 50 kHz PWM).
