It looks a lot like a Renshaw spindle probe. As I was looking at the pictures I
noticed that in one of them I saw something that would concern me. It looks
like there is some greenish looking stuff around the shaft that the stylist
threads into making me think that the batteries had been left

Thanks for the images.
That's surprisingly simple. I would have expected that much higher
surface quality on the contacts is needed. Interesting.
My guess would be be
Beats me lol.

It may also be used as plotter if pencil is put down.
It use Linuxcnc and hardware I developed myself. Spindle use a BLDC motor and

Yes I do as I've had it apart. When the rains slow down and I have a
better connection I'll upload a photo.

Greetings all;
The little monsters ways have been tightend up and it should carve to
about a thou tolerance for a few days anyway.
Currently using homing switches, with figures in the ini file that while
not accurate, are at least consistent, which I need to redo the Z axis

Mach may have a different format, and is crippled by the lags in its usb
interfacing. For linuxcnc, which can, even in sw, register a hit

Greetings all;
I am just finishing the last brass gib, by carving 8 slots for the
adjuster screws head starting with one that's probably a red hair loose,
so since there's nothing in the way on the back side, I can let a bit of
surplus for wear comp use stick out the right side.

Greetings;
It seems the kernel we are using for the latest installs, is subject to
an attack as outlined in CVE-2016-5696, a serious flaw in the tcp
protocol. A long standing bug introduced at kernel 3.2, & just now
publicized.

I bought this one

After taking it apart one day and pressing the contacts to the shoulder
it seems as good as my BP series 1.

I do a lot of 3mm to 6mm tap drilling holes, or so it seems. I may see if

This is a hobby-grade probe made in a guy's home shop, I
believe. Still, on a hobby-grade machine, it may be better
than you
If I could afford it, I would only own Cobalt drills.
I use Cobalt drills when I need to make hundreds of holes. Then it
makes sense.
But the T coated drills like the Ryobi drills work fine for general
drilling on hot rolled and cold rolled.
