That's already there, and already set to 100%
The problem seems to be that the driver is faulty: if I reboot into
Windows 7 (it's a dual-boot install), then I can make the screen
brighter without trouble.
The "Backlight" module provides a control that you can put in a shelf,
when you click on it it shows a cursor to dim/undim the screen. You can
find it under "Utilities" in the list of modules.
Alternatively you can set a keybinding to the actions "Backlight up" and
"Backlight down" and tune the st
I'm running e17 under Ubuntu 15.10 on a Dell Latitude D810.
The keyboard provides Fn up-arrow and Fn down-arrow to control screen
brightness, but they only provide one step, about a 5% change in
intensity up or down.
I have tried but failed to find anywhere in the e menus a setting or
widget to m

And it used to work with the defaults. But it works now with the step
size set to 10, and seems to be interpreting that as a percentage.
It's not th

If I'm not wrong it's not a percentage, it's a step as defined by the
driver. Looking at /sys/class/backlight//max_brightness you
shoould find what is the

Just a quick follow-up... I ran a naked X session (no window manager,
just an xterm), and this time xev shows there are keycodes detected
when i press the brightness buttons. As expected, they're off by 8
from the terminal's keycodes. And xmodmap shows that these keycodes
are what they're supposed
I'm not sure if this is an Enlightenment-specific question, but E is
where i'm running into this problem :)
The backlight module in the shelf i have on the screen works
flawlessly. It even remembers what the brightness level was and
restores it when i log in to E. The problem is that the keys on m
