The fastest way is through the ethernet connection. Just turn on the file
sharing on the iMac and log in with the G4 and drag over the files that you
want.

Just a couple of warnings about file sharing. First, the file sharing
control panel isn't all you need to set up properly. You also need to go to
the icon for the hard disc you want to share and do get info and then
sharing and set it to allow sharing. Also, your Appletalk panel needs to
be set
(the main thing of course), and Word and Excel customizing. I realize that
an alternative would be to copy the entire System folder and Microsoft
Folder from the old computer to the new. I just thought that sort of like
moving from one house to another, moving to the new computer would force me
to throw out

to throw out some stuff I don't use and reorganize what I do! But if I've
missed something in the reinstall and customize approach that makes a
copy everything and maybe eventually do some cleaning up approach better,

preferences--including my prefs and favorites for Internet Explorer,
because I customize the toolbar quite a bit.
Make sure you copy your Normal Word template file, since it has any keyboard
shortcuts and macros you may have
