That's 738 Wh/mi. For once, I'm speechless.

What am I missing here? I don't understand why the responses to this post
are talking about how much energy a Tesla takes.
The article was talking about the GM car with the cringeworthy name, BOLT,
not a Tesla. That's what I was responding to.
They're not at all comparable. The Bolt is (wi

Seth,
The contactor in a L2 EVSE is rated for AC typically, though it might be
simple to replace the contactor with one that is rated for DC, typically
the difference is the distance and speed that the contacts open and the
magnetic blow out to quench any remaining arc.

Thanks for this idea...
I have a retired UPS from work.
It actually has something like an L6,
not sure. I wasn't an EV guy when I

It has a few dead Lead Acid batteries in it
Time to read the specs...

My worry is what is inside the car. They also have a disconnect contactor
or solid state switch on the J1772 charging

It's also possible that the Bolt test drivers were a bit heavy footed to see
how it would perform. That, and any car needs to have the driver 'broken in'
for a while to see the numbers improve.

If the fuse doesn't list a DC rating then don't use it with DC.

That's good advice if you're buying something new, or selling products
that have to meet specs.
However, in many cases the only difference between a fuse with AC only
and AC/DC ratings is that they di
