yeah, it can seem strange, but canned pumpkin will help both diarrhea and constipation.  I'm thinking the s/o makes the urine the median pH it needs to be to avoid both crystals.catatonya <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

Re: FeLV diet- Royal Cannin?

2005-09-29 Thread Lernermichelle

Royal Canin does make S/O for both struvite and oxylate crystals. It is the only one that prevents both. I am not sure how-- maybe by very precisely regulating the ph to the normal level? Anyway, vets seem to be recommending it over the other ph foods because the others, like CD for struvite, apparently can, after a while, cause the other kind of crystal by forcing the ph too far into the other direction.  This may have happened with Lucy, who again has bladder stones which this time do not seem to be improving on the S/D diet for struvite bladder stones, which may mean her corrective diet caused oxylate stones which have to be removed surgically.  :(

Hi everyone,   I tried to send this update yesterday but it failed, I guess because I embedded a picture in it so this time I will send it without the picture.  There is a link to see her pictures on her website, if anyone is interested.  Here is the update I sent out:Hi everyone,I wanted to post an update on Sophie. For those of you who are already familiar with Sophie, I would like to let you know right off that she is doing just great. She has not needed an enema in over 4 months. When she seems to be having trouble, it is not long before she figures out how to take care of it herself. I think she has regained enervation in her rear quarters. She is a happy, healthy, active, loving little girl. She pads around the house chirping and singing and talking and is
interested in everything around her, it seems. She seems to love me so much and I do her, too. She is mixing with the other cats pretty well, too. For those of you who are not familiar with Sophie's story, here is a recap, if you are interested. Sophie was a sweet, peach and grey tortie kitten when the caring person who was feeding her noticed her tail looking broken. The vet determined that Sophie needed to have her tail amputated as it appeared to be "dead". While amputating her tail, the vet also destroyed Sophie's anus and surrounding tissue, in error. Sophie did well at first but soon developed scar tissue over her anal area which prevented her from passing stool well, or at all. The stool would become impacted against her scar tissue and would make her rear end bulge out with stool grotesquely. It was awful. Sophie quickly became obstructed to the point that I had to take her to the vet to have an enema under anesthesia. The vet recommended that I put
her down because she would require frequent cleansing enemas under anesthesia and would be miserable between enemas when the stool would begin to build up all over again. I knew she would have to have so much anesthesia and worrying about the effect of all that on her and the cost was more than I could afford as they charged about $90 for each cleansing enema with anesthesia. I thought her quality of life would be very poor because the vet hammered home that idea.I asked if possibly Michigan State University Small Animal Clinic could do any kind of reconstructive surgery. The vet replied that he did not know but doubted it. He did give me a referral, grudgingly, and there a wonderful surgeon by the name of Bryden Stanley said she could create an anus for Sophie by using a tendon from her leg. She was also going to strengthen the rectum and do a spay, per my request.Dr. Stanley estimated the surgery to cost $2000. I had only $700 in credit from Care Credit but the
rest was raised from donations from incredibly caring and generous people from the feline leukemia group and by Timothy Meeker of the Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance Program and his group and also private donors. There were so many wonderful people who rooted for Sophie at every stage and who sent prayers and positive thoughts, too. Sophie did very well following surgery and for two months was doing wonderfully. She had did have some trouble again after two months with more bulging of stool protruding from her rear, just like before surgery, but that was mostly taken care of at home with home enemas. Gradually, these enemas were needed further and further apart and Dr. Stanley believes that Sophie regained enervation to her hind end over time, which is allowing her to manage her own stool passing now. I am going to try to embed a recent photo of Sophie into this email but if that doesn't work, I did post some new pictures on her webpage. Here is the address,
if anyone would like to see them. I hope to get better pictures soon. http://annlmla.tripod.com/id1.htmlBye for now,With much gratitude and purrs and hugs,Anne and Sophie

These are pretty funny!  SO, I'll relate the only skunk story I
have:  A friend of mine in college had a descented skunk as a pet, she
lived in a rural area and as a hobby fed all the wild critters...birds,
squirrels etc...  Her boyfriend, later to be husband, never had animals
growing up, but was very fond of all of Char's.  Unfortunately he let
an indoor only cat of her's out of the house and while they eventually got
the cat back, he took a load of lectures on the importance of watching that
the animals didn't get out.  Anyway, a few weeks after the cat
incident, he went over to Char's house and saw "Squiggy" the skunk wondering
around the side yard.  Happily determined to throw her words back at
her, Kevin kept trying to pick up Squiggy hoping to ring the door bell with
the beloved escaped pet in his arms and to spout the same LONG lecture back
at herafter about three near misses, Char, who had heard his car pull up
and was wondering WHY he hadn't come in yet went to the door and opened
it...the REAL Squiggy in her armsKevin saw her out of the corner of his
eye, just as he made a semi successful lunge at the skunk he THOUGHT was
Squiggyand got sprayed full on!  THAT'S where I learned about using
Tomato Juice to cut the stink ...(which by the way Kevin and Char received
40 cans of for their wedding shower!)Julie Johnson

I always have a leash in the car and was preparing to pull

Subject: Update on Sophie
Hi everyone,   I tried to send
this update yesterday but it failed, I guess because I embedded a picture in
it so this time I will send it without the picture.  There is a link to
see her pictures on her website, if anyone is interested.  Here is the
update I sent out:Hi everyone,I wanted to post an update on
Sophie. For those of you who are already familiar with Sophie, I would like
to let you know right off that she is doing just great. She has not needed
an enema in over 4 months. When she seems to be having trouble, it is not
long before she figures out how to take care of it herself. I think she has
regained enervation in her rear quarters. She is a happy, healthy, active,
loving little girl. She pads around the house chirping and singing and
talking and is interested in everything around her, it seems. She seems to
love me so much and I do her, too. She is mixing with the other cats pretty
well, too. For those of you who are not familiar with Sophie's
story, here is a recap, if you are interested. Sophie was a sweet, peach and
grey tortie kitten when the caring person who was feeding her noticed her
tail looking broken. The vet determined that Sophie needed to have her tail
amputated as it appeared to be "dead". While amputating her tail, the vet
also destroyed Sophie's anus and surrounding tissue, in error.
Sophie did well at first but soon developed scar tissue over her
anal area which prevented her from passing stool well, or at all. The stool
would become impacted against her scar tissue and would make her rear end
bulge out with stool grotesquely. It was awful. Sophie quickly
became obstructed to the point that I had to take her to the vet to have an
enema under anesthesia. The vet recommended that I put her down because she
would require frequent cleansing enemas under anesthesia and would be
miserable between enemas when the stool would begin to build up all over
again. I knew she would have to have so much anesthesia and worrying about
the effect of all that on her and the cost was more than I could afford as
they charged about $90 for each cleansing enema with anesthesia. I thought
her quality of life would be very poor because the vet hammered home that
idea.I asked if possibly Michigan State University Small Animal
Clinic could do any kind of reconstructive surgery. The vet replied that he
did not know but doubted it. He did give me a referral, grudgingly, and
there a wonderful surgeon by the name of Bryden Stanley said she could
create an anus for Sophie by using a tendon from her leg. She was also going
to strengthen the rectum and do a spay, per my request.Dr. Stanley
estimated the surgery to cost $2000. I had only $700 in credit from Care
Credit but the rest was raised from donations from incredibly caring and
generous people from the feline leukemia group and by Timothy Meeker of the
Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance Program and his group and also
private donors. There were so many wonderful people who rooted for Sophie at
every stage and who sent prayers and positive thoughts, too. Sophie
did very well following surgery and for two months was doing wonderfully.
She had did have some trouble again after two months with more bulging of
stool protruding from her rear, just like before surgery, but that was
mostly taken care of at home with home enemas. Gradually, these enemas were
needed further and further apart and Dr. Stanley believes that Sophie
regained enervation to her hind end over time, which is allowing her to
manage her own stool passing now. I am going to try to embed a
recent photo of Sophie into this email but if that doesn't work, I did post
some new pictures on her webpage. Here is the address, if anyone would like
to see them. I hope t

I always have a leash in the car and was preparing to pull over!  I sent my husband an email later in the day relating the incident and his response, was, "well, have you found him a home or do we get to name him?"!!  If I had skunks snoozing on the couch I don't even know if he'd notice!!

Our Stinky cat is home, for now anyway!  She seems to be a little
better.  She promptly gave the dog a swat as soon as he got within reach
so, she seems her old self again in that respect.
The IFA test ( 2nd test ) came back negative!  Yes!  Now as all
of you probably know, we have to retest in 30-60 days and even if she does not
have the FeLV she still has a very serious illness ( probably cancer ).
The anemia is not good although, we did find out there has been a few red blood
cells produced- not nearly enough but, a few!  We have to take her back on
Monday or Tuesday for another CBC and we will have to have another transfusion
if she drops again like before but, they gave us antibiotics and Interferon ( I
think I spelled that wrong ) but, they are also interested in taking a look at
some of the other drugs I have been given information about through all of your

:

1 quart (or

Use fresh (unopened) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Hydrogen peroxide
eventually turns into water (H2O).

1/4 cup (50
ml.) of baking soda

1 teaspoon (5 ml.) of liquid
soap

1 pair of plastic or
latex gloves

Bathe the dog outside or, if it's too dark or cold, in the bathroom
with the door closed and window opened.
Combine the ingredients in an open container (do not store in a sealed
bottle-- it will explode ).
Using gloves, wash your dog with lukewarm water and the mixture while
the mixture is bubbling. Work the mixture well into the fur.
Be sure to concentrate on the area that was sprayed.

Keep mixture away from your dog's face and eyes (it's a harsh
solution). (If your dog has been sprayed in the face, try Tricotine
Liquid Douche Concentrate or any over-the-counter douche.)
Let the mixture stand for 10 minutes or so before rinsing off.
Rinse the dog with lukewarm tap water. Don't wash the mixture into
your dog's eyes (use a washcloth to cover the eyes if you're rinsing
the head).
After bathing, check your dog's eyes. If they are red and watering,
your dog may have taken a direct hit in the face. Skunk spray won't
blind the dog, but it's very painful. Contact a vet.

Re: Felvtalk Digest, Vol 8, Issue 151-IDEX-SNAP

2005-09-29 Thread DwinnsNM

I am new to FeLV but, as far as testing goes, I do not trust testing for
more reasons than one, namely, false negatives.  I do not know SNAP tests
but, I think tests can throw false results and should never be trusted 100% of
the time.  Speaking from personal experience, I would test and retest if
you can. Our Stinky girl is a house cat and she along with three other cats
tested negative for FeLV, but, now I have a 14 year old cat with FeLV who has
lived in "close, intimate contact" with three other cats for 14 years
INSIDE!  So much for testing, huh?
And, personally, I could not go to nor could I ever trust, a
veterinarian that just hands down execution orders without even knowing the
animal.  FeLV cats can live for 2 or 3 years at least so, I could not
personally go to that veterinarian.
There are drugs that can help, transfusions to prolong lives, and TLC
always helps a lot!  We may not be able to keep Stinky from going "into
that good night," but we are going to give her every opportunity to fight if she
wants to for as long as she wants to.
I hope you can find a place for your kitty and I wish you the best and will
say a prayer for him and for you.  Many good thoughts and I'd say if you
feel like the vets are closed to all the options out there than don't go
there!  But, I'm kind of funny that way!

RE: Pls Pray for my baby Ceaser

2005-09-29 Thread Julie Johnson
Hi Hideyo,

Coming out and meowing sound like positive steps.  How old is Ceasar; sometimes on kittens you will feel ribs on the side of the body regardless of weight.  Do you know how to 'tent' to check for dehydration?  You can either take your thumb and forefinger and slightly squeeze and pull upward a little 'v' of skin between the shoulder blades or back of the neck.  If the skin stays up (sort of like a little tent) and takes a few seconds to return to being flat against the body, the animal is likely dehydrated.  The skin should normally snap right back.  Another way to test is by touching the gums; are they sticky at all?  They should not be; they should be smooth and slick. I hope this helps; good thoughts and prayers are on the way.

Love, Julie

A prayer for Caesar and
good thoughts too!   And, to update you all, our Stinky is
coming home this afternoon but, this morning she didn't look very well to
me.  Stinky is stronger but, I fear for her deeply. I know the uphill
battle she faces so, I understand if she is too tired to go on but, I also want
to give her every opportunity I can to live if she wants to.  So, if
you'll say a prayer or have a good thought for our Stinky girl we'd really
appreciate it!  And, to all-prayers and good thoughts for all your babies!

We will update you further after our
meeting with her vet.

Dear Hideyo,

Prayers on the way; I have you and all your babies in my thoughts.  Is Ceasar dehydrated?  A subnormal body temperature is sometimes a byproduct of dehydration.  Did the fluids you gave help at all or is it too soon to see a response?

IDEX-SNAP TEST

Please don’t take to a place where
they are going to be euthanized?  I have both FeLV and FIV cats and none
of them are symptomatic.. they can live many many years – How much does
it cost to take to a regular vet – is there any rescue group who offers a
discount surgery? –

Here’s what I suggest – can
you afford ask your vet to draw a blood from the kitty?  You can either
have him test there if you can afford it or send the sample to me, and have
someone I know here test it – if he is negative, then you feel safe to
take him to the clinic which offers you discount – if it’s
positive, then you will need to take him to a regular vet or others who
won’t euthanize – if you can’t afford it, I will pay what you
cannot afford – I don’t have that much money, but I will come up
– he is not ill and he is not suffering,, regardless of the blood result,
he never should be euthanized (especially FIV – it’s really not a
big deal) –

Just let me know what you would like me
to.. I will try to help you in anyway I can –

Also don’t assume that he is FIV
positive – you just never know.. I have many kitties who tested positive
in the colony.. but many many are negative though they share everything.. good
luck with everything – and I am here for you if you need help.

IDEX-SNAP TEST

I mostly lurk around this list.  Much of the
conversations center around highly technical and advanced forms of treatments
but I'm learning a bit.  As I have posted a while ago, I have been feeding
a stray/ferral guy, CottyCat, since before last Christmas.  I have
been just able to get close to him and pet him.  Now he comes to me before
eating.  I need to get him to a vet as his skin is a mess.  I have
good reasons to think he is probably FIV+ . I contacted the local
spay/neuter clinic that also has vet hours since they seem to be very
reasonable.  I just can't afford my regular vet anymore.  Two and
three hundred + on my last two visits.  It's just out of the question
since I think my stray will require a considerable work-up.  Well, the
clinic offers an IDEX-SNAP test to determine both leukemia and FIV.  The
woman at the other end told me that if either show up positive, the cat should
be euthanized. Of course, I began to enlighten her about FIV but I didn't
have a good feeling at the end.  I did mention the Western Blot but she
had never heard of this. There we go.  I expect that this IDEX-SNAP test
may not be reliable.  I would like some opinions please.  How about
the leukemia?  Should he be put down if he has that? If I can get him
fixed up, I would like to find a good home.  I have 5 cats (Mikey is the
only one FIV+) & 3 dogs, all strays or dumpees. I can't afford them as
it is.   Cotty is  aggressive  but eventually he might calm
down.  He'll need a special owner.  I'm anxious because winter is
coming and I don't think he'll get through it outside.  I live in west
central Florida.
If anyone has additional info, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.

Dear Hideyo,

I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems regarding your
kitties; it sounds like a bureaucratic nightmare!  I wish you strength to
do whatever it takes to get the rules modified so that your kitties are safe
and nobody else has to endure such a trial.

Best wishes and a big hug to Hannibal;
the ferals are so close to my heart.  Can you medicate him at all?
The vitamin-iron supplements like Hi-Vite or Pet-Tinic sometimes give me
trouble because the volume of the dosage is kind of high and despite the
manufacturer claims, I've never met a kitty whod eat it willingly!  I've
used pediatric iron drops (Fer-In-Sol; you can buy it in the infant's section
of most any drugstore) with better luck because it's more concentrated
and you only need a small amount which you can hide more easily in
food.  I hope this helps and I send you good wishes and lots of hugs for
you and the kitties!

Love, Julie

Hi, my dear friends on the list,

I am so sorry that I have not been posting or responding to
your postings – but please know that all of your babies who are having a
difficult time right now are in my thoughts and prayer.

I am facing a very difficult situation for my cats and I am
trying to fight back and I could use your help – If you know anything
about your city ordinance regarding having multiple animals in the residential
area or if you could look into it and email it to me, I would be very
grateful.  The city may try to take all my furry babies away from me due
to the stupid ordinance which exist right now in my city (which only allow 10%
of your premise size as a defined area where you can have animals, then each
animal (if less than 30lb) will require 75 sq – so for example,
let’s say, I have 4,000 sq in my premise, they only consider 400 sq as a
limitation of the space where could be used for animal site – so if I
divide 400 by 75, I could only have 4 or 5 animals, which anyone can have (the
number of animals one can have in my city without permit is 4 anyway and will
become 6 with new ordinace this fall) – this is a stupid law, because it
was originally written for hobby breeders where they keep animals in kennels
and cages, and they just apply to multiple permit as well, but it does not make
sense –

So I am working with a city councilor to revise this
information so that anyone in my situation won’t have to deal with it
– but I would like to know what other cities may have as there might be
something that I could learn –

In the meantime, please pray that they all will be able to
stay with me – as the city takes them, you know what’s going to
happen – the officers already inspected my house a couple of times, and
they are very fine with it all animals are well taken care of.. they have
a very good life - - just the stupid ordinance.. if they don’t grant me a
permit, I was advised to request a hearing, which I will do for sure.. but I am
hoping that I won’t have to as I don’t want that much visibility in
this matter.

PS: also my Hannibal is not eating well – he is CRF
kitty, and my vet suggest that he may have FIV due to high globulin value, but
I do not agree – I have so many other cats with higher globulin value
– but he is becoming anemic, I think it’s due to CRF – please
send a prayer for Hannibal that he gets better very very soon!  He is my
very first feral boy!

Ok.. you guys, I need a big prayer and
healing energy for my baby Ceaser –

He sort of not wanting to eat at all since
last night or so, and that continued on this morning.. his paws were a bit cold
and his temperature is lower than usual (was somewhere between 95 or 99)…
I know it’s bad when a temperature is going down than having fever and I
am so scared!  He is hiding right now. I gave him warmed
fluid to his tummy and he has a heating pad right now--- but I just can’t
afford to lose him!  He is the one who swalloed the bottole top a few
weeks ago.. I don’t know what’s going on – he still nurses
but just does not want to eat off the plate like other babies –

I talked to the vet but there was not
anything they can do at this point –please let me know if you have any
suggestions – otherwise, please please pray for my Ceaser, that he will
only get better very quickly!!

Thanks so much, Kerry.  Eduardo had become SO much better (since his
"jailbreak" days!) he even let me pick him up outside.  He was doing very
well until we had some thunderstorms and I have a feeling that there was some
unpleasantness on the porch where they were all sheltered when I got homeThe
cats who do go outside are those who have unilaterally refused to be kept inside
(except when the weather is bad, of course!), and although they don't go to the
extremes that Eduardo did, they will take any opportunity to make a run for the
door.  All the other cats have never looked back once they settled onto the
sofa!  There are a couple who show slight interest and I do feel somewhat
guilty sometimes, but I've learned to live with it!  "Friends" fans
will rembember Joey's line, "Inside good.  Outside bad". That's what I tell
them!!!

Yep, hubby started his vacation early and the kitties are delighted that
they have somebody to join their afternoon nap!

  Hi Everyone,

Wink came home last night and looks like quite the little
Franken-kitty!  She wouldn't eat at the vet and wouldn't eat at
home.  She just wanted to say in her carrier on the fluffy blanket and
have us pet her.  She was up this morning when I got up and did eat a
bit.  My husband is on vacation and she was sitting on his lap rubbing
her little head on the paper when I left, apparently as happy as a little
clam!  The side of her face is all shaved and stitched as is the top of
her head because they needed to drain there, too.  The biopsies won't be
back until next week, so we just want to get her eating and keep her
  cozy.

My sort-of-feral Eduardo has been outside with the outside cats this
summer.  He's very passive and he has a lot of trouble with Tramp who is
a big bully.  He was doing well in the little zone he had carved out for
himself, but he hasn't been home in over a week.  I think it was he who
ran from a cat fight I broke up (naturally Tramp was involved) but I couldn't
really see; all I saw was a black behind running.  My neighbor claims
she's seen him in the bushes, but he is not coming when I call him (we had
reached the point where he would) and I have not seen him.  I put all the
outside cats in the garage yesterday and today so I'm hoping, hoping that he
feesl safe enough to come home.  I miss him so.  I can't stand
having outside cats; I'm not looking forward to the heating bill, but I will
be delighted when the weather turns cold enough that they don't want to leave
  their beds by the furnace.

RE: HELP...Skunk

2005-09-29 Thread Julie Johnson
Kerry, I live in a small city but the country is not at all far away and when I was getting on the highway one early spring morning, I thought I saw a dog standing on the side of the road.  He loped off and as I got closer I could see it was not a dog, but a coyote (literally less than a mile from my house).
I always have a leash in the car and was preparing to pull over!  I sent my husband an email later in the day relating the incident and his response, was, "well, have you found him a home or do we get to name him?"!!  If I had skunks snoozing on the couch I don't even know if he'd notice!!

My sort-of-feral Eduardo has been outside with the outside cats this summer.  He's very passive and he has a lot of trouble with Tramp who is a big bully.  He was doing well in the little zone he had carved out for himself, but he hasn't been home in over a week.  I think it was he who ran from a cat fight I broke up (naturally Tramp was involved) but I couldn't really see; all I saw was a black behind running.  My neighbor claims she's seen him in the bushes, but he is not coming when I call him (we had reached the point where he would) and I have not seen him.  I put all the outside cats in the garage yesterday and today so I'm hoping, hoping that he feesl safe enough to come home.  I miss him so.  I can't stand having outside cats; I'm not looking forward to the heating bill, but I will be delighted when the weather turns cold enough that they don't want to leave their beds by the furnace.

All your good thoughts and wishes are so appreciated; it means so much to me to have you all!!!

Dear Michelle,

I'm so sorry it's not something that could have helped Gemma; she's been so lucky to have such a loving family and good doctor.  It sounds as though she's been kitty-like, having nine lives.I just wanted to mention the cart because I didn't know how widespread the use was outside of the US.

I have you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Julie

Yes thanks I do know about them but they are not appropriate for Gemma unfortunately. She has had deformity in her front legs for 3 years due to arthritis to begin with and could not take excess strain of learning how to use a cart. Aside from her back legs now giving up too she looks unwell - I think there is more going on - she has been vomiting today. But she is 12 and could not put her through bloods or surgery etc... as her prognosis is poor. We took her to be put to sleep in despair when her front legs became deformed and again when she had her stroke but her vet is excellent (specialist in osteo conditions) and she explained everything to us and gave us hope - and since that first time she has had another 3 years - since her CVA another few months. We knew the time would draw in but you never totally expect it when it happens.

Dear Hideyo,

I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems regarding your kitties; it sounds like a bureaucratic nightmare!  I wish you strength to do whatever it takes to get the rules modified so that your kitties are safe and nobody else has to endure such a trial.

Best wishes and a big hug to Hannibal; the ferals are so close to my heart.  Can you medicate him at all?  The vitamin-iron supplements like Hi-Vite or Pet-Tinic sometimes give me trouble because the volume of the dosage is kind of high and despite the manufacturer claims, I've never met a kitty whod eat it willingly!  I've used pediatric iron drops (Fer-In-Sol; you can buy it in the infant's section of most any drugstore) with better luck because it's more concentrated and you only need a small amount which you can hide more easily in food.  I hope this helps and I send you good wishes and lots of hugs for you and the kitties!

Hi, my dear friends on the list,

I am so sorry that I have not been posting or responding to your postings – but please know that all of your babies who are having a difficult time right now are in my thoughts and prayer.

I am facing a very difficult situation for my cats and I am trying to fight back and I could use your help – If you know anything about your city ordinance regarding having multiple animals in the residential area or if you could look into it and email it to me, I would be very grateful.  The city may try to take all my furry babies away from me due to the stupid ordinance which exist right now in my city (which only allow 10% of your premise size as a defined area where you can have animals, then each animal (if less than 30lb) will require 75 sq – so for example, let’s say, I have 4,000 sq in my premise, they only consider 400 sq as a limitation of the space where could be used for animal site – so if I divide 400 by 75, I could only have 4 or 5 animals, which anyone can have (the number of animals one can have in my city without permit is 4 anyway and will become 6 with new ordinace
this fall) – this is a stupid law, because it was originally written for hobby breeders where they keep animals in kennels and cages, and they just apply to multiple permit as well, but it does not make sense –

So I am working with a city councilor to revise this information so that anyone in my situation won’t have to deal with it – but I would like to know what other cities may have as there might be something that I could learn –

In the meantime, please pray that they all will be able to stay with me – as the city takes them, you know what’s going to happen – the officers already inspected my house a couple of times, and they are very fine with it all animals are well taken care of.. they have a very good life - - just the stupid ordinance.. if they don’t grant me a permit, I was advised to request a hearing, which I will do for sure.. but I am hoping that I won’t have to as I don’t want that much visibility in this matter.

PS: also my Hannibal is not eating well – he is CRF kitty, and my vet suggest that he may have FIV due to high globulin value, but I do not agree – I have so many other cats with higher globulin value – but he is becoming anemic, I think it’s due to CRF – please send a prayer for Hannibal that he gets better very very soon!  He is my very first feral boy!"I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man.
