I also unknowingly adopted a positive kitten, but he had tested a false negative. My five other kitties were unvaccinated; three caught the virus and died within two years as did the kitten. A third kitty tested positive after that debacle, but threw off the virus. I certainly wouldn't mix

Lohna, I would never use a chemical - even on healthy kitties. I use a flea comb - it takes a few days but it works. Just comb out the kitty and everytime you get a flea in the comb, dip it in hot soapy water. I did this in the bathroom with the door shut but gave the kitty lots of affection

Jennifer, Has it been ruled out that Sebastian's rear leg weakness may be due to anemia? My kitty Fu gets a 10 mg.'s of pred a day and 200 ml of fluids. His vet said that would lead to suppression of his red cell blood count - Fu needs those meds more; sometime's his back legs look wobbly.
