My cats have only eaten litter when they have been anemic & dying (FeLV cats

HAHA Barb! I had the same experience with Sweat Scoop. I actually had to take a
hammer to pound the "cement" off the bottom of the litter pan.
A few years ago I did a "litter test". I bought a bunch of different brands of
litter & filled a  box with each one - clay, Yesterday's News, Sweat Scoop,
World's Best, Feline Pine...& monitored the smell & which boxes the cats were
actually using. World's Best took the prize in eliminating smell & was the one
the cats liked best.

Hi Kelley,
Me too! I like the way this box catches the urine in a reservoir.
One of my boxes is a Tidy Cat Breeze right now. The cats love it, it
is their favorite box too pee in, but the urine collection tray is too
shallow and the pads are bad for the environment. It's too bad, I
love the way it looks, and how the scoop can hang off the side, if it
just had a urine bottle instead of the tray/pad combo it would be
perfect...

2010-08-09 Thread paola cresti
We've had it here (on the west coast) for a while, but (and I'd have to check
again) the price compared to all the rest is quite higher. It's made from corn
and was using it when I had kittens that were being potty trained (if they ate
it it wouldn't harm them)
I use Swheat scoop now that is more cost effective I find if I mix it with
other
kitty litter it doesn't turn into cement.
In any case I scoop a couple times a day since I have 6 cats (also why I can't
afford World's Best... also I can't stand the smell of it... it's kind of
yeasty
and since I don't tolerate gluten it actually makes me a bit sick.

higher, only shop there when i have to. TSC also has my Blue Buffalo food

Re: [Felvtalk] cat litter

2010-08-09 Thread dlgegg
funny, the lack of dust was one of the good points i found. i just started
using it (on 2nd bag) and i have noticed that when i pour it out of the bag, i
see no dust and since i am allergic to most dusty things, i would think that it
would hit me right away since i am standing right above it. maybe they have
improved the formula since you used it. i have found that it does not track as
much as clay, is about the same particle size as clay and all 8 of my girls and
boys like it. it clumps so well that even Dee can't break them up (she is a
super coverer, even goes in after others and covers for them). it lasts longer
and is lighter to carry the bags in from the car and with 8 cats, i have 8
boxes so i go thru a fair amount of litter. i haven't noticed any of my pride
sneezing or coughing so far. i know corn is an allergen for cats, that is why
i switched from Hill's Science Diet - several of my babies were always vomiting
after eating. i switched to Blue Buffalo and no problems since then. will
keep a closer eye on things, but i hope there are no problems because i surely
don't want to go back to clay. i can't compost it like World's Best. i keep a
seperate compost pile for my litter. used to use Fresh Results from 8 in One,
but Walmart stopped carrying it because it did not sell fast enough. Pets Mart
carries identical formula from 8 in One, under a different name, and charges
$13.00 per bag as opposed to $6.00 per bag of Fresh Results. got to sign off
now so can get some sleep. cats found a mouse in house last night and kepp me
up chasing it all over.

just found a great new litter called World's Best Cat Litter. i found it at
Tractor Supply in Troy, Mo., but they are starting to sell through PetsMart
and PetCo. it comes in 3 diferent sizes. it is great, a 17 lb bag costs
$10.00 and it lasts longer than clay litter. best of all, it is gound up corn
so it is biodegradeable, light weight compared to clay, clumps really good
(even Dee can't break up the clumps), doesn't smell and lasts longer because
you can get out whole clumps and don't waste as much. i called them and they

2010-08-09 Thread Verna Monson

I've been using this cat litter for a few months now, and am amazed at how cost
effective it is. Although the price per bag seems high, it's very efficient,
and I find a bag lasts a long time. Two cats, one geriatric, Beatrice; one FeLV
positive at 14 months, named Gabriel, and healthy as an ox.
