get the sheet vinyl like i'm getting.  the top of the line stuff has a 15 year guarantee not to scratch, tear, scuff, etc the color goes all the way through.  it's 'textured' to make it look like wood grain.  it really doesn't look bad.   if i could afford it i would tear up the laminate in the

You can actually do some fairly nice looking floors by staining concrete, or adding a bit of pigment into the mix before you pour it. Oh, and I'm 100% behind the floor drain idea! Then just have a long hose in one central room, spray them all down as needed, squeegee them dry, and it's DONE!
