Re: Jaws Please add to the CLS :(
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Jaws...just from the description he was obviously very special. We just rescued a kitten who had been stuck in a car engine for 2 days, and will give our "Otto" lots of love and a kiss in Jaws' memory. We are fortunate that Otto didn't get hurt. I had a rescue a few years ago whom I found, an adult with a flea collar on, with a broken jaw and missing an eye, yet he wolfed down food as soon as we put it in front of him! The fracture was a very old one and had to be set for months to heal, poor guy had an e-collar on so long, but now has a loving home. He had that crooked grin, too, though it's more straight now. It sounds like Jaws knows how much he was loved, and will be missed--thank you for taking such good care of him. Marylyn, Thanks for your kind words. Yes I doubt she had known human touch. She was so scared. The guy who started the truck was going to keep her had she survived. It was not meant to be. Sherry, I am so sorry for your loss...it reminded me of the Garth Brooks song where he says..."I could have missed the painbut I would have missed the dance.." Our lives are enriched so much by these sweet little spirits that pass through and touch ours...and their passing leaves a hole in our hearts.Debbie (COL)"You gotta bloom where you're planted!" You do what feels right at the time. Don't regret caring for her. Learn. That may have been the reason she was sent to you. Sherry I am so sorry to hear about poor Jaws. Not many cats survive getting caught in a car engine. We tried to save a feral cat who hid in one of the trucks where I work. The guy felt so guilty. He had no way to know the cat was in the engine. I held her as we went to the vet. The vet did her best. The cat came home but the injury was too severe. No kidney function. Her whole rear end was crushed. The sad part is she was dying in my arms and I kept her alert. I should have let her go to sleep. I think she would have died then. Peace to these babies.
