If you go the the user manual and click on "What's New" in the top
left hand corner. You can scroll down to what's new in 2008. That's
when the mass mover tool was replaced and it'll explain everything.
Once you get used to it it's much better than mass mover. But jumping

Why is it that when I use "clear all items" everything disappears

It's always interesting to see other peoples ideal of the perfect
'look' for chords. There must be as many ideals as there are jazz
musicians.

the web. I have an excerpt that needs to placed in an eBook that's
created in "flash". But at the moment when it's placed in the flash
file some staff lines and some notes are missing.

I opened one of my templates from 2010 in 2011. When I add measures
to this document the staves on the second page are a different size!
They are maybe 25% smaller. What did I do wrong now? I presume the
template is corrupted, but maybe it's something else.

I've just installed Finale 2011 and there doesn't seem to have been a
2011 folder created, just the application only.
So e.g. I imported a library from 2010 named "my chords 2010" into a
2011 new document and then saved it as "my chords 2011". But when I
search in the finder for it, it does

reference guide" that came with 2011, I notice that under "entering
the music" they only describe "simple entry". The only mention of
speedy, and it's in teeny tiny type, is at the end of that section and

I think this may have been answered before, but I can't find itit
used to be that when I moved notes up and down in speedy entry by
clicking on them with the cursor, the notes would sound the pitches.
Very useful in double checking with your ears that you have the note
where you want it
I would love a way to organize the expressions in each category in
alphabetical order, especially in my miscellaneous category which has
a few hundred entries, everything from "end solo" to "play straight
8's" in it. Half the time it's quicker to just type it in again than
look for the one
In finding the solution to my problem with multimeasure rests
disappearing when I used a staff style to make them blank, which
nobody seemed to have a solution for...at least nobody
replied :)...I discovered that the problem was that the "update
automatically' in the multimeasure rests

little anomalies with my M-Audio keyboard and Finale 2010. I don't
have Snow Leopard.
When I open a new document, the keyboard is silent. The only way to

I agree that the OEM e-mail seems to be a scam. But that still doesn't
address what I think is an unfair system. Can you imagine poor jazz
musicians buying software like Finale if the upfront price was $2400.

I'm on 2009 and the sound from my input-keyboard (M-Audio 61) only
seems to work when I'm in speedy entry. When I exit it disappears.
Now the weird thing is if I alter my midi thru settings, say from
smart to fixed, It'll work just fine without being in speedy and when
I enter speedy ag

3 words to articulate then the on-line manual is absolutely useless.
When I'm producing a personal template I need to know how to make the
text boxes that I use for the title/composer etc. linked to the set-up

Drum part goings on!
In my drum parts, when there are long stretches of playing time, I
leave that time as empty measures and then when I do the part I use
the "blank" staff style to cover up the rest numbers and then from my
own text library I put in bold letters "PLAY 16".

I guess it goes to show that if one just works in a limited way and
just do what you always do, you can miss things.
I'd never heard of "insert mode" so I went back to previous versions
of Finale, looked in the speedy menu, and sure enough there it is.
But in all
I'm doing my first piece in 2008 and I found a small annoyance I
can't seem to fix. Previously in speedy entry when I made a mistake
on a note value, say I entered an 8th note but meant to enter a 16th,
I could just back over that note and punch the 3 key and it would
change to a 16th. Now
I just ordered Sibelius from "audiomidi.com" and wasn't asked for any
proof of Finale ownership! At that price it's a no-brainer.
