Jim, are you testing into a dummy load?
If you take the top cover off, do you see the LEDs
on the tuner blink?
The tuner manual is the Z-100 Operations Manual from
the Flex-Radio web site.
I'm guessing that the ATU is communicating with the
SDR-1000, because if it isn't, PowerSDR has a pop up

I do not have an SDR-1000 (yet) but use my Delta 44 with MixW and a Ten
Tec Pegasus with no problem on INS and OUTS 1 & 2. In fact, I use
inputs and outputs 3 & 4 separately (by loading an alternate patch bay
scheme into the M-Audio Control Panel) when I employ the computer in my
audio product
I have the SDR-1000 configured with the 100W amp and tuner. With the tuner
in Byp mode, click TUN, Pwr Out indicates 12W. With tuner in Full mode,
click TUN, Pwr Out = 0 Watts. Something is amiss here.

Have you tried experimenting with the

After a call to Eric, I see now what he was talking about...
The output level on the D-44 does NOT allow you to isolate between 1&2
or 3&4. Eric says that if you change it on the D-44 console BEFORE
you fire up the rig, it will automatically set it to the correct
setting, however if you try to ch

Please use a great deal of caution when adjusting the output mode of the
Delta 44. Switching from -10dBv to +4dBu takes the voltage from a safe
0.98VRMS max to a whopping 4.3VRMS max. This higher voltage will almost
surely damage the SDR-1000 (specifically, IC2 on the TRX board) if you were

Yes. Sometimes we can fix things over the weekend, but this weekend
everyone was out of town. A fix was posted yesterday that should address
the fatal error on startup. This will be looked at more closely this week.

The archives for both the source and the installs are available on our
download page at www.flex-radio.com. Note that SVN is probably an easier
way to look at the diffs as each change has notes associated with it along
with which files changed. I suggest using CSDiff as the diff viewer in

The BandText table simply denotes whether you should be able to transmit in
that band. The actual checking of the frequency is deeper in the code.
Please contact me privately for information about unlocking the console for
legitimate applications (different IARU plan, MARS, etc).

Don't forget that the Firebox has two integrated preamps as well.

I need to clarify Flex's position.
A mic preamp is not required to operate the SDR1000-there is sufficient gain
included in the software to run just about any low level microphone. We
have not done a good job of documenting the various procedures to achieve
the desired result; this is somethig we

Phil,
Yes, in my estimation (not agreed with by Flex, both Eric and John have both
thumbs down my take on this), a good low noise mic pre-amp is a fine
addition to the Flex set up. I use an inexpensive Beringher.
In a thread a few weeks ago, I suggested this fix to a fellow Flexer that
