Re: FLUXLIST: FLUXUS ANTHOLOGY 2005
Just back from a romantic ride on an old train from New York to Miami and back. TOO many entries to read backwards But, in answer to the previous strains of this particular email..: I did purchase the FLUXUS ANTHOLOGY 2005. When I bought it I played and listened. My head was in a perturbed box of eldervine and I was displeased with the cd and pissed off to boot. Then, after I quit my job I thought I'd give it another try. That lyrically haunting Bottom of the Stairs, which, on first hearing was about 2 minutes too long-- was actually most pleasing, even more so because it had been echoing in my mind in myriad permutation since I'd heard it last. Perhaps it, the song itself, helped transform me to my present state which can be most well defined as PJ: Post Job The time before the teaching Job is now BJ for Before Job, and during is now known as DJ for During Job. In PJ time I have more time-- to listen to things, respond, and even occassionally jam some word or two together to form a complete sentence. So, yes, I LOVED that, then there was bAllAd olo dAllAb, which I enjoyed, familiar and yet not enough recognition for me yet, I know that I will be listening to it again. Perhaps now? No, I'll wait otherwise this brief chat note will turn into another holy friggin novel. ahem.Heat transfer--I could definitely feel it and felt it transfer to me and I don't remember what I did with it then but a nice signifying sound--sweet, Must listen to #70 again--I missed it before I was aware-- I sing Woob Woob all the time Madawg sister honey I hear you Alan's Kitchen--On the first hearing my critical New England pickled cynicism spoke up with an I-can-do--that smugness which we all know is full of holes. (It is like the Woody Allen joke about not wanting to be in a club that would accept me as a member. Its is also why I think all you fluxlisters must be perfectly loathsome creatures. ) So anyway, I was getting into it when I had to go do some chore or other. So that is where we are leaving the review for now--I'll continue later if anyone is interested. I found a new job. suse - Original Message - From: "Rod Stasick" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Wednesday, March 15, 2006 1:45 PM Subject: Re: FLUXLIST: FLUXUS ANTHOLOGY 2005 > > On 1427 Safar 14, at 12:18 PM, mIEKAL aND wrote: > > > Carol > > > > You should get that library to order a copy of the first fluxlist > > fluxus audio comp as well. > > Ordering info is here (as well as free downloads of the CD) > > > > http://www.xexoxial.org/fluxuations/initiation.html > > > > Yeah! Re: FLUXLIST: FLUXUS ANTHOLOGY 2005
Walter- I did buy the CD and think it has some great stuff on it (not to mention the lovely cover art). My apology is that I thought I had said something about its wonders, but just after I received the CD I did some traveling, so I obviously forgot to say something. As the younger set are wont to say, "my bad." I particularly like "Bottom of the Stairs," "Glue," and "Sentimental Education." Walter, you did a great job putting this together, and the Fluxfolk offered a smorgasbord of sound. Re: FLUXLIST: FLUXUS ANTHOLOGY 2005: Out Now !
Or more accurately yet, David did the cover art, and my son Zon Wakest contributed several photos including one of a stencil from the streets of Bucuresti. Zon & I also did all of the packaging design. We also worked included a graphic of Yellow Boxes submitted by José Miguel. Walter of course did all of the assembling of audio. & we cut up a fluxus score by Alan Bowman and hid it in the design. It was truly an international affair. I really like that the cafepress site lets you hear parts of the recordings, it allows a lot more folks to access the sounds. Hopefully the fluxlist website can link to it as well. There is still a fluxlist website, right? ~mIEKAL On Jan 20, 2006, at 11:17 AM, David-Baptiste Chirot wrote: no to toot our horns but mIEKAL aND and i did the cover art--it doesnt's em to be noted in the notices i have seen so far--thought people wd like to know

thanks Walter for all your efforts. I listened to the Mad Dog piece and just cracked up! Very excellent!! Re: FLUXLIST: FLUXUS ANTHOLOGY 2005: Out Now !
Since this is kinda a collective project & there is no one printing up a big batch of these to spread around, it would be great to figure out a way to buy a bunch of extra ones to distribute for reviews, to archives, radio stations etc. I notice with cafepress, if you buy more than 15, it brings the price down to a little over $5/per. I think I'll probably buy 15 & send a bunch around. Hopefully there are others that would do the same, or for that matter, other ideas of how to get it around. ~mIEKAL I still haven't heard it myself so I'm looking forward to this. Thanks Bjorn, I am the volunteer editor of this category, so if anybody on the list is aware of any sites that should be there, go to the directory and click on the link at the top that says "Suggest URL". I can then add the site right away. Please keep in mind that the directory has rules that I must adhere to. The site can't already be listed somewhere else in the directory, it has to be relevant to the category, and it can't be a 'deep link' to a page on a web site that is already listed elsewhere in the directory (unless there is a substantive difference). There is still a little space on CD for you to fit in. I think a new definitive deadline could be October 15th. Probably Eric Andersen will publish a sound file in the Anthology. I also asked Owen Smith to write a little Fluxlist introduction to be included in the booklet. About the booklet mIEKAL aND and David-Baptiste Chirot are doing an excellent artwork! A booklet! I'd like to submit a sound file, but my music supplies are unfortunately still at my house in New Orleans (My wife, baby and I are in Idaho on the way to moving to Portland). So I'l submit a silent entry: Hurricane Piece: Listen to the wind and water destroying your home. Don't anyone get too carried away. The "booklet" as far as I understand is the cover as a folded insert, so there is just an inside left & right page. So there really isn't room for anything but the most rudimentary notes. Walter, correct me if I'm wrong. I'll post the cover designs in a few days for all to see. ~mIEKAL On Sep 30, 2005, at 11:23 AM, Rod Stasick wrote: On 26.13.5765, at 1:50, Walter Cianciusi wrote: Dear Friends, 12 contributions until now for our anthology. Re: FLUXLIST: Fluxus Anthology 2005
Thank you mIEKAL, I'm very happy that you want to do the CD cover: the Fluxuations CD was a very good work! The audio file can be of any length, but consider that it will be published on a 80 minutes audio CD: leave just a little space to other artists.
