Thanks Rod,

All depends on ones point of view I guess.

As an IT support specialist at a university, I can fix just about
anything... but from the point of view of a typical end user, if it doesn't
work when you click the button, it's a bug. I tend to agree with them.

Yes, Allan., but it's not really a bug - just a weird anomaly that
iTunes and Windows

Dunno, Rod,

Podcasting seems cool, uploading is also cool for the masses.

I'd say,

K.I.S.S.

(Keep it Simple, Stupid), for all cases. Make it as easy as poss.

Btw, my piece in jobb app should be copyleft, CC, share-alike.

Etc.

Yeah, all these podcasting mess is a bit buggy sometimes. But once you get
an aggregator that reads the podcasts good, it is easy to get addicted.
Really an aggregator is not any more complicated that an automated
downloader of selected subscripted podcasts. Some people wants to call the
aggregators for podcast catchers instead to demystifie this all podcast

I have used Doppler, iTunes and Juice. I like Juice best (Juice was called

I announce the opening of the JOB_APP compilation!

JOB_APP (the JOhn Bennett Audio Poetry Project)

will consist of 50 audio works by 50 Fluxlist folks (I hope!).

The audio pieces that you choose to create will use one of John's
text pieces

as a starting point. If you haven't already chosen a work of his to
mangle, dangle, or just spangle,

you may want to check the Fluxlist archives here:

http://tinyurl.com/6kqab

Just put Bennett in the Search window and you should have quite a
list to work with

(maybe John has other suggestions concerning his website).

I know that not everyone has access to CD burners etc, so this is
why I am leaving

the media that you choose to send me pretty much open.

Yes, CDRs and mp3s would be the preferred way, but DAT, minidisc,
and cassette would work too.

I've decided on a maximum limit of 10 minutes per person, so that
it all can fit as HIGH quality mp3s

on a single CD. When you send your submission,

mention which Bennett text you are using as well as the name of
your work.

So if your name is Rusty Naffziger, and you decided to use today's
text from John called Wet Meat

and you decided to call your work Semiological Falsesighted, then
your work may be listed like this:

1) Rusty Naffziger: Semiological Falsesighted (Wet Meat)

I've now decided on 3 months deadline instead of 4, so this means
that all

CDRs, cassettes, emailed mp3s, etc should be on my desktop by
DECEMBER 1

(after all, you won't have time to do anything during December
anyway, right?).

I will send reminders to all of you typical last-minute tax senders
about

OCTOBER 1 and again about NOVEMBER 1 if we haven't reached 50
submissions by that time.

Of course, I will announce when I've received goodies from 50 folks
and begin assembly early.

I will do the assembling of the tracks (probably using chance
operations),

the design of the CD covers (each one different) and the design of
the 50 discs themselves

(also, each one different). I'm really expecting to spend December
doing this

with the intention of getting them to everyone around Xmas time or
the first days of '06.

I'm planning, too, on an online gallery of the covers and discs
so that everyone can see what they didn't get

and begin fighting over
tradesOK, just kidding on

Walter,This was the first of a couple of emails about it (below).I'm not making the official announcementuntil the 1st, because I need to finish up a couple of other audio projects before then(one to Austria by the 29th and one to Denmark by the 15th of Sept), but the idea will be close towhat I've said below. Also, knowing this group for as long as I have,(heckabuddha! Has it really been almost 8 years?)don't expect one month to be long enoughfor deadline of submissions. This group can't do it.(I still love 'em anyway!)Will send the info on or about the 1st.(This, of course, doesn't mean that we can't do the Anthology too! - The more the hairier!) Begin forwarded message:From: Rod Stasick [EMAIL PROTECTED]Date: 29 Junie 2005 12:35:59 vm.To: FluxPizzed FLUXLIST@scribble.comSubject: FLUXLIST: JOB_APPReply-To: FLUXLIST@scribble.com On 28 Jun 2005, at 6:43 vm., John M. In my sleepy-headedness, I realized that it sounds like I was saying
that
everything would be spread out over 50 discs, but NO - what I meant
to say is that
you can get a lot of sound on one disc by creating many more-than-
decent-sounding MP3 files
and burning them on ONE disc. One disc would go to each of the 50
participants, etc...
Also, I was thinking that since each disc and cover would be unique,
I could provide a gallery of

the 50 CD covers and the 50 CD disc artworks afterwards.
Anyway, I'm getting WAY ahead.
Hope that cleared up that imagined thought in my mind!

I have ideas...but we won't get into that here

Since I'm in Germany again with the great assenting organic impulse
of electronic music,
Karlheinz Stockhausen during July and August, my sketchy and squelchy
plan may begin officially on Sept 1.
The John Bennett Audio Poetry Project (to be known, in short(s) as
JOB_APP).

My thought...BUT, not yet concrete...is to start accepting audio
works to be compiled on an audio CD.
The pieces will be using John Bennett's bendy-dictions as a starting
point.
Haven't decided on how many yet - probably 50 discs - each disc
artwork and cover unique, but if we do this many,
then I probably better take everyone's submission and turn them into
high quality MP3s so that all can have
a chance to stretch out - otherwise you'll only have about 90 seconds
to strut yer stuff (90 seconds X 50 folks = 75 minutes).
AND we know that time and time again, anything worth taking the time
will take time,

so maybe we can limit everyone (sorry) to 15 minutes max(?)

Anyway, I can't do anything until Sept! - so, it gives all of you
time to think about yer JOB_APP.

Probably, Sept 1 I'll announce officially (rules, address to send, etc)
with reminders and updates on Oct 1, Nov 1, and Dec. 1,
with all CDs, cassettes, emailed Mp3s, etc on my desk by 2006.
I work on compiling, art work, etc and try to send them out Feb 1.

This is the rough-edged plan, but I'll officially announce around
Sept 1
and we can get on with it. I'm good at follow-thru (almost
compulsively so),

so this shouldn't end up like the Fluxlist Box 2.

All of this, of course, under the hawkishly watchful eye and OK of JB
and his Allstars Poetry Crack Team,
if he's willing to sit back and allow the minions to tear his work to
shreds.

but, AGAIN, not until around Sept 1 when I should make the announcement
(or if someone else is ready and waldo to take it on earlier...)

verstehen Sie?

a, das ist gut!

R~ (past my bedtime...nighty/naughty nite...)
