I went and experimented with applying a SmCaps Character Tag to a word in an
existing cross-reference and then I updated my cross-references.
The word came across as SmCaps while the remainder of the cross reference

something like this, you should look at Rick Quatro's
www.frameexpert.com database integration scripts. Especially if you're
only dealing with one relatively small DB.

As text insets are separate FrameMaker files, you should have sent them
separately to your translation vendor.
I know Trados has an option to 'hide' text inset contents for the translator
(and exclude these from the word count).
To make this work after translation, be sure to copy your
Reinstall FM from the CD and choose "Custom installation". You can then
choose which dictionaries to install, including Spanish.

mutually exclusive. If you want to author DITA-structured content in
FrameMaker, try Leximation's DITA-FMx plug-in, you'll love it:

both graphics and text insets in separate folders. Very convenient when
