The book is well-formed, with no unresolved x-refs, etc.

previously cleared this option in Printing Preferences, the solution seems to

Windows 7, 64-bit, particularly after applying the first two updates.
The updates kept reassigning the port to COMM1 and losing the desktop
and document ports! The solution was to go to Devices and Printers,
delete the Adobe PDF
Yes, that is typically what a script like this will do: it will combine all
of the documents, and then "flatten" the cross-references so that they
become internal to the combined document.

Actually, it seems to affect printing to PDF from all applications. This
morning I could not get a PDF from even a short document in Word, even
though it worked yesterday for the PC Tech.

unchecked both instances and rebooted but no luck. My PC Tech is on the phone
with Adobe right now.

I only see tool tips when hovering over tabs or toolbar buttons. My

If the links work in Acrobat Reader on a local drive on Windows, maybe
PDF Expert doesn't support named destinations. Have you tried Adobe
Reader for iPad?

I've not looked in FM 10, but .rtf is probably still Save As option. My past
experience, though, was that save as rtf took forever for just a single
file.
I use Mif2Go to convert drafts to rtf for my clients to mark up in Word. I
works well and fast for a whole book. Lots of graphics slow it down
