I can't answer your question about FM12 on the 5k Retina but I can say you are able to run your Windows OS perfectly well without Parallels. You can use Bootcamp to run Windows natively on the Apple Hardware. I have Windows installed on my MacBook Pro bootcamp partition and can select to run

For those of us with eyesight that's not what it used to be due to age, a 14" screen is simply not a viable option, no matter how high the resolution. FWIW, my eyesight is decidedly declined, I run Frame 11 on a 15" Retina MacBook Pro hooked up to a 27"

Agreed! I use my 15.6 laptop only when I travel (which is quite a bit). When I am at my desk at work or at home, I dock my laptop and connect to twin 24 1920x1200 displays for my work. Only way my old eyes would survive long-term staring at a screen. Z From:
