xdm doesn't run as daemon

X, dbus and hal - how to?

I'm running X remotely, i.e. xorg-server and clients are on different boxes. After reading freebsd.org/gnome FAQs and hal FAQs my impression is that dbus and hal must be run on the clients box, not on the server. Can somebody confirm this? many thanks anton -- Anton Shterenlikht Room 2.6
