I dont think that is the issue. the problem is with the mysql virtual
users
they do not appear in the /etc/passwd or /etc/master.passwd files.
so that is the wrong direction.

so I am running FreeBSD 6.2
and installing phpMyAdmin for the first time.
even after recompiling php5 with the mysql extension phpMyAdmin still
complains "Cannot load mysql extension"
what else cna I try?
