Hi Aitor,
Since Eric and tassilo have identified the free web hosting for
FreeDOS bugzilla, and since Eric has volunteered to install the new
FreeDOS bugzilla, migrate the existing data, and do any ongoing
maintenance - so I think we have a winner! :-)
Well as we only migrate from

Hi everyone! Some followup on the what to do with the FreeDOS
bugzilla discussion:
* 2 people have emailed me to say (paraphrased) I don't use the
FreeDOS bugzilla, but can recommend the SF Tracker if we did that.

Erm, Eric,
I would rather use bugzilla than the sf.net tracker

Why? Please give reasons for your decision.
SourceForge bug tracking system is rather slow here, but it works good. It
is used by, e.g., the Bochs PC emulator project.
I looked at Bugzilla for only a few times and it
Hi Aitor,
If there was an option to dump current bugzilla info to a file or
something like that, before losing it completely, I'd do it that too
(in case you guys are thinking of taking bugzilla down some time).
I already downloaded our bugzilla bug database and converted it
from a mysql

I hope that effort wasn't just to put the data into XML, since there
is an option to the MySQL dump command that puts the data into

Hi Jim,
There's a dump of the MySQL database on www.freedos.org...
I had guessed / feared that ;-) So now I spent half of the
night installing MySQL (because SF uses it) and PosgreSQL
(because I use it) and DDL-UTILS (which convert between
many databases and XML) on my PC, failing with the

Hmm okay. So we better make a data file which can be imported by SF.

Hi Jim,
I now downloaded the binary zip from db.apache.org/ddlutils/
which luckily installs A LOT easier than the source edition...
Also needed 2 extra JARs: mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin.jar
and postgresql-8.2-507.jdbc4.jar - for obvious reasons :-).
A few fixes were needed to get the ddl

There's a dump of the MySQL database on www.freedos.org. You're a

The version of bugzilla on the FreeDOS web site is kind of old, and
there have been some security vulnerabilities/updates against it
(looks like mainly XSS information leaking.) So I do need to update

Guys,
I fixed the problem with the FreeDOS Bugzilla where you were forced to
constantly login to make any updates. Silly me, when we moved the
www.freedos.org site to freedos.sourceforge.net, I also changed the
Bugzilla entry page (http://www.freedos.org/freedos/bugs/) to use
Hi all,
I've moved the FreeDOS Bugzilla to Sourceforge. If you have bookmarked
the old Bugzilla, please update to use the new location. I've updated
the links on the www.freedos.org web site (mirrors should be updated in
the next day.)
Please do not report problems with the FreeDOS
Hi everyone.
Things aren't looking so great, and I need to move the FreeDOS Bugzilla.
Like, now. I feel I've run out of time.
Since #1 (SourceForge) requires the least work, because everything is
already set up, I am going to move the FreeDOS Bugzilla to SourceForge
over this weekend -

Here at FreeDOS we never had that issue ;-)
Rather than wait for that to happen,
Could you give some numbers about that hosting? Disk space, amount of
transfered data, sw requirements, and whatever.
