Edge scrolling works by Fvwm creating invisible windows around the
screen borders. xcompmgr must be interferring with them somehow.
Try changing the 'edgethickness' to see if that helps.
Run xwininfo -root -all to see if there is a window in the way.

Then switch to a page using the keyboard that puts the pointer
over the root.
Root keybindings won't work.

Both those functions "menu" and "windowlist" are meant to grab the
xserver and cause the "hang" that you observed.
There has been some experimental code developed for "tear off menus" which
would be a prerequiste for solving this problem with menus.

Fvwm95 is a fork. My advice is to use Fvwm instead. Fvwm does a good

The menus come up blank and the text appears 1/4 second later.
On larger menus, I can see the text appear in blocks.
If I had to use a Solaris system, I would still want to disable iconv.

I think it is very common.
That's what the -name argument to xterm/rxvt is for.
To get the above behavior, I use a P
believe that was around the time IgnoreModifiers was invented.
I was running Fvwm remotely over dialup with lots of key bindings
in my .fvwm2rc.
