Why would I do that? I've already got a dedicated server to host my
own apps and website. As it happens Apache is now installed, updated,
and properly configured and the blog is back up. It was merely a
matter of getting everything fixed.

you'll get a Wordpress error that the version of php on the server is
out of date and Wordpress can't run. Which means for the time being
the blog is down.
