2008-11-09 Thread Bryan Peterson
That's why I eventually gave up on that. I tried adjusting every setting I
could think of and still my voice was always overridden by the game. So I
could never figure out a workable setting. That's why I eventually switched
to the R09, but since I currently only have a 64-meg card I can't really do
much recording.

Re: [Audyssey] Changing tokens was Beatles Monopoly properties

2008-11-09 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Thomas,

It doesn't work exactly like that. You do not create a list of custom tokens.
What you do is, when each player gets to the select token menu, press the up
arrow key once. It will say custom. Press enter. Now type in your custom
token.

BTW if you have already started a game the f6 key will allow you to change that
players token.

Hi Sean.

H, how about online games such as Sryth? lots of stuff to do and no
typing in commands.

then, there's the various gamebook style stuff, which is probably easier and
less frustrating to play than If, sinse there's no typing in of commands.

For starters you could try ffproject.org, - though if you want a full
list, just search audiogames.net under gamebooks (I can guarantee the
entries there are uptodate).

Hi.
I am asking on behalf of a friend that is deff who wants to know what
games he can play, this guy is blind and deff and has a braille display.
So far I have suggested the games at ifarchive.org, the times ashes
collection
The dos games at kitchensinc.net and pcsgames.net but not sure if they are
still up.

Also old card games for dos, etc.
Am I missing something out or is that all.
Oh this guy is dumb as a post where pcs are concerned.
I was thinking the rogue style but I suspect all the symbols would look
real bad on a braille display.
If you have any extras you'd like to give me just pass them privately
unless you want to open another list topic, I don't mind, I have asked
this guy to subscribe, well gave him the web address of this place so who

Oh I also suggested to him games like kingdom of loathing, and alterego as

I think I have everything but am not sure.
I am not deff so I don't know exactly what is required.

ah, 64 mb card, is baaad! The first thing I did when I bought the r09 was
get a 300 mb card, - especially as sinse I use the r09 for recording
books and research materials for my phd, things can deffinately get long
winded.

If you can get the cash Bryan, changing the card really isn't difficult at
all, - just a matter of slipping the old one out of the back and
sticking the new one in when you've got the battery cover open.

2008-11-09 Thread K. Matthew
Speaking of playing games for some folks that are either able to hear some.
You can still play three D games, as long as you can hear in one ear well
enough like me.

What I've done, is move the computer speakers, or should I say power sterio
speakers on my right side, the left speaker is on my right front, and the
right speakers is on my right back.

That way when playing like shades of Doom, or something, I can tell if it's
left or right, depending on where the sound is. Takes some getting used to
doing it.

Re: [Audyssey] deff people

2008-11-09 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Matthew,
Speaking of people with partial loss of hearing or near deaf I've been
wondering on ways of improving mota ffor those with hearing as well as
visual disabilities. I was wondering if I add a textbox which will allow
you to use a braille display with the game if that would help.
Unfortunately, most of what it would display is health, strength,
location, and other stats. Though, you might be able to press a key and
have the braille display tell you the location of a centaur, skeleton,
harpy, or another monster. In your opinion would this be helpful?

And the hearing aids are like the loudest ones you can get. Think I was
told they do 112 DB.

Matt.

Hi,
If you listen closely, the letter says 'around' x17 and z2. [Hint: try
x18 and z1]. Also, there is a specific action you must do at that
point. The letter says something about it being on an above
world..(there's the hint to the action you must do).
