Re: [Audyssey] quenton's playroom and window-eyes

2011-10-02 Thread QuentinC

Hello all,
Yes, I confirm, the new optional update is now compatible with window
eye and system access. For those who use NVDA or jaws, updating is
useless, as there isn't any other change.
Thank you to window eye testers for having helped me in closing the way,
I'm pretty sure they are on that list.

The new ScreenReaderAPI.dll is now compatible with the 4 most used
screen readers. I would like to release that DLL under open source (only
that DLL not the entire playroom) so that game developpers have now no
reason anymore to make a game uncompatible with one of the major screen
readers. The DLL is plain C, so you can use it with any programming
language having FFI features (C/C++, java, python, C#, VB and other
basic variants, all have a kind of FFI feature)
Also if you know some other screen reader API support that could be
added in that DLL as well, let me know if you have documentation or if
you would like to test. WE could talk about that in a separate subject
if you prefer and if you don't consider that as being off-topic.

Luckily I kept lists of what I needed to build things, but sinse I only
really make edk packs this isn't too bad, though i did manage to build some
messiah turrets as well and am just getting the parts together for a babylon
scan unit.

speaking of scanning that is the one thing I've had trouble with. Sinse
while plugging in a couple of argo scanners and scanning for my own wrecks
is fine, when I plug in the wide spectrum T2 and an argo, nothing shows up
at all!

I thought the T2 wide spectrum was to show you other people's wrecks, but
there seem to be no wrecks around.

The one only real cryticism I have of the game, even more so now I'm getting
to higher levels and using more energy conscious equipment, is that you need
a different set of gear for each in game activity! this would be fine,
accept that having to click each thing, click unequip, click okay, click the
slot again, click equip, then click okay again perhaps four or five times
for different things is a real pest.

Apparently equipment sets are not possible with how the game works, but
even an unequip button, or changing the controls to list boxes would speed
things up.

NEvertheless, sinse this is the only problem with the entire game! it's not
such a big deal, and in some ways it works to your advantage sinse it helps
you conserve fuel. in fact Ive found that's one weerdly useful thing about
using a screen reader, because page navigation is slower and I need to read
stuff, I rarely ever run out of fuel, only if I do several major
hauling or passenger runs around the system really, in fact I think I've
stil got about twenty thousand fuel in the depo that I've just not used
yet which is also why I've never even considdered the black raven :D.

Core exiles is a really amazing online space game.

it's really hard to say whether it's a space exploration and war rpg, an

Myself, I do combat, salvage and mining interspursed wita bit of hauling to

The best thing about it as well is that even with the paid options it
doesn't overbalance the game in that free players have the exact same
opportunities as people who have premium accounts. Of course there are
advantages but they aren't the type that will automatically put you ahead by
having a premium account.

The other good thing about it is that it's fully persistent. It never ends
and your account doesn't get wiped for at least 6 months of inactivity. So
you can take a break if you like as I did then come back to the game with
your account intact.

stashed. Lol want some?

Ah so you have a premium account do you? I haven't yet gone down that road.

I don't craft that much accept ffor exploration kits, although I haven't yet
as I have had to replace all my extractors and mining drones as I lost them
all so am in debt to the sum of aboutb 4500 cr I've paid off nearly half

True, the reason why I like doing it is if I want to use a ton of fuel on
passenger and hauling runs. Then I can just keep going and going. I may have
to do this a couple times just to get myself financially afloat. But the
great thing is that on the whole there's no real definite right or wrong
ways of doing things in the game.

Fair enough. I suppose I don't tend to run out because I alternate what I
do.

I'll do some passenger and cargo hauling, then I'll try a mining mission,
then I'll do some combat and planetary exploration.

That's I think one of the main things about the game, you really have a
choice of activities.

True, the reason why I like doing it is if I want to use a ton of fuel on
passenger and hauling runs. Then I can just keep going and going. I may
have

to do this a couple times just to get myself financially afloat. But the
great thing is that on the whole there's no real definite right or wrong
ways of doing things in the game.

As I said, I never bothered with the transfer device, sinse i just didn't
see the point in stockpiling fuil sinse betwene the level five engine and
premium account I would have to work pretty hard to run out.

This sutes me very well, it means that practically speaking fuel is no
concern, and the extra good events are help.

Engineering pods is nice because it is entirely free of Ip cost, and it
uses

space debris which is otherwise not really of much value unless it's given
to Sven for barter items.

Making my own pods has saved me a good two million creddits thus far,
given
what messiah turrets usually go for, and when i've got the stuff together
to

build another that'l be something I can sell for a good prophit.

Re: [Audyssey] Back to ce

2011-10-02 Thread dark
That is true, especially with furnice, but I do tend to like to alternate
what I do so that things keep interesting.

That's actually one thing I rather like about the game, how much there is to
do, which insures even with some of the slower activities you never get
board.
