Re: [Audyssey] Trouble installing BSC Blast Chamber onto my Windows 10 64-bit machine.

2016-10-25 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
So, I ran the checkup tool, and I'm still getting the same error. I
even tried running the game as an administrator, and no luck. Gur!
This is driving me crazy! I listened to the demo that comes along with
the game, and it got me really interested in playing! Is there
anything else I can do?

Thanks,
Ari

Re: [Audyssey] memory

2016-10-25 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
Lol you think we're gonna get a discount because we can't see the
pictures? This argument never made sense to me in relation to movie
theaters, and it sure as heck doesn't make sense to me now. I don't
think we need any special gaming device for the blind--we just need
some mainstream games that had some damn good positional audio, as
well as gaming devices to build in some sort of basic screen reader so
that game menus and text could be read. First the device manufacturers
have to get on-board, and then we might see some mainstream games that
could be played by the blind.

[Audyssey] Trouble installing BSC Blast Chamber onto my Windows 10 64-bit machine.

2016-10-25 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
So, I grabbed Blast chamber a few minutes ago, and the install and
running of the configuration program went perfectly fine, but when I
tried to actually run the game, I got this error:
"Error 432: File name or class name not found during Automation
operation while loading file gameIntro."

I went back onto the Audio Games Archive mirror site for the BSC
games, and noticed an item called dependencies, so downloaded both
files, and installed them. The Visual Basic one ran fine, but Windows
10 didn't like the Windows Media Audio Configuration thingie, and the
program compatibility assistant popped up. Unfortunately, I
accidentally clicked on the button that said that this program didn't
install correctly, and then couldn't get out of it for some reason, so
instead of just hitting alt-f-4, I hit the install with different
settings or something like that--my memory is foggy on that exact
wording--and I'm still getting that error. I tried to figure out how
to uninstall the Media Audio thing, but couldn't figure out how to do
so. I'd like to try removing it, so I can try installing it again, and
tell Windows to take a hike when that Program Compatibility Assistant
comes up, and that the program installed just fine.

Has anyone else run into this error? Can it be fixed? I'm assuming I'm
still having the error because of my gaff with the Media Audio thing,
but I can't be sure. Any help would be really appreciated! This game
sounds like a lot of fun, and I've heard of other people who have
Windows 10 installed getting the game running, so I'm assuming it's
something I did. :)

Thanks,
Ari

[Audyssey] Transfering Q9 licence to my new computer.

2015-12-04 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
How might I do this? The old hard drive is still intacked, as far as I
know, but I don't have an enclosure for it. And even if I did, I don't
think just transfering the files will work. Can I just type in my
activation info into another demo copy and then have it unlock? And as
far as obtaining a copy of the game, how might I go about doing that?

Thanks,
Ari

[Audyssey] Locations of various game save data for transfer from a Windows 7 laptop to a Windows 8 laptop.

2014-08-16 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
The subject says it all. How can I transfer the following game's save
data from my old Windows 7 laptop to my new Windows 8 laptop?
The old laptop was running a 32-bit Windows, and the new laptop is
running a 64-bit Windows; I imagine this will make a difference in
where the files are placed.

The games are:
Q9
Super Liam
Castaways
Entombed
The KitchensInc games

Any help is grately appreciated!

Ari

2011-03-05 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
Dark,

They did keep in git, as well as headmaster, caretaker, and lessons,
strangely enough. And by the way, it's Sourcerers Stone over here, not
Philosopher's Stone. I really wish Jim Dale had read the U.K.
editions, or rather, that the U.S. ones didn't even get changed by
Scolastic in the first place. The reason we have Google is so we can
look stuff up, you gits. Or kids could go to their school or nearist
public library for God's sake! It really is stupid that this kind of
stuff happens. It makes me feel as if publishers think we're stupid or
something, or too lazy to research. Besides, it takes away the
authenticity of the characters and setting, in my oppinion. They're in
England, for God's sake, not America. Let them talk like it! Sorry,
rant over now.

Thanks,
Ari

Hey, I've got that! Whoot!

I'm looking to get a mini BT keyboard--I still prefer pressing little

 Hello,

After some discussions about various interfaces which I was recently
involved in, I would be keen on both first letter menu activation, and a
generic key which would bring up all of the possible commands; like the
 alt key in windows.

As I have an iPhone, I would love to see more text adventure games in
that format. Note that many of the current text adventure games which I
have on my iPhone give a list of choices which you double or split tap
to select your choice and then you tap the proceed button.

I'll have a look and see what I come up with.

So, you don't think I'll be able to run those .tap files? Maybe
something in Linux will do it? I really would like to play the
original before anything else, if at all possible.

I was wondering if anybody knew how I could get my hands on the old
1982 text adventure of The Hobbit? It ran on the C64 on a cassette
tape or floppy disk (not sure if that was a 5 In. or a 3.5 In.), but
if anyone knows where I could get this, it would be awesome! Also, how
the heck would I make it run? Lol.

That's not the point. I agree with Tom. There's always going to be
spoilers for games out there, and I try not to look at them, but
they're going to be posted anyhow, whether game devs agree with them
or not; people should refrain from posting them as much as
possible--but that's just my oppinion. I only ask if I'm having real
difficulty--and I mean spending hours on something and still not being
able to figure it out. This is just my two cents, though.

Re: [Audyssey] Confusion about getting past the first level in MOTA.

2011-02-02 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
Thomas, I've gotten used to alt to jump, but switching to coontrol
won't be too hard for me as that's what you use to jump in Q9. II
haven't been playing MOTA too long, so it's not going to be a big deal
for me to switch.

Thanks for making MOTA,
Ari

Re: [Audyssey] Game Creation Tools

2011-02-01 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
I took a look at the BGT manual and went, yikes! I got about 4-5
paragraphs into it and got confused. I sat for a while, trying to
figure things out, and got even more confused. Maybe I'll give it
another shot, though.

I can see the point made earlier that this interface idea Tom is
toying around with wouldn't allow for too much configuration.

Re: [Audyssey] Game Creation Tools

2011-02-01 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
Oh, my God, Tom! Please, please, please consider doing this! I'd buy
it! Programming is something I don't know how people do. I am truely
astounded at how much work is involved, and I don't think I could
figure it out too well. However, programming must have some logic to
it--it's a system, after all, and I love systems. But this would get
me started. I've always wanted to create some audio games! Something
kinda like Super Mario World--well, not exactly--it's copywritten,
after all, but something similar. Hmmm, wonder if the sounds/music is
copywritten? Probably--who am I kidding? Anyhow, I've always wanted to
do something like this!

Thanks,

[Audyssey] Confusion about getting past the first level in MOTA.

2011-02-01 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm having trouble getting to the
next level in MOTA. I have made sure to move all the statues and pull
all the leavers I've found, and when I go back to the door at the
beginning of the level, I still find that the door is locked. Am I
missing something? Is there something I need to do that I'm not
getting?

Thanks,
Ari

P.S. I totally love this game! Great work, Tom! I don't care how long
it takes you to release version 1, 'cause I know that it'll only keep
getting more and more awesome!

Re: [Audyssey] MOTA Last Minute Comments

2011-01-31 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
I agree, games like Shades of Doom, Audio Quake and Sarah and the
Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry absolutely throw me for a loop! I
get lost so quickly it isn't even funny! I guess I get confused by the
sounds changing direction as my character moves. That throws me off a
lot. I understand it in real life, but in a game, it's confusing.
Maybe making a map would help? Ugh, that's a lot of work. And a lot of
stuff I'd have to buy. Or I'd have to use Braille or something. So
much paper lol. I can't use a Braille display for things like that,
either. I have to be able to see the whole map, otherwise I get lost,
and the map is useless.

Re: [Audyssey] driving blind

2011-01-31 Thread Arianna Sepulveda
Oh, God, that's all we need, blind drivers! Lol holy crap, I'd be way
to scared to even think of doing this! I'd love to drive, probably
just like a lot of other blind people, but I'm very doubtful it'll
ever happen. Think of all the things that could go wrong. As another
member of this list pointed out, what if the vibrating gloves and seat
malfunction? And if some duche pulls out in front of you? Would you
have enough time to react? Would you have enough warning to pull off
the road? And what if you did get into an accident? Who would be
fixing the car? Certainly a macanic could do the repares on the car,
but what about the most-likely prohibitive cost of reparing the
meckanisms providing feedback to the blind driver? Thanks, but no
thanks. I'll stick to the bus and walking. Oh, and my boyfriend can do
all the driving. We do have a car. Thank God, because groceries are
heavy, and we often buy more than can fit in a small personal wheeled
cart.
