[Audyssey] Avoiding attacks in MOTA

2009-11-02 Thread Ryan Strunk
Hi Tom, I read in the manual that it is possible to duck attacks from enemies. I imagine ducking isn't quite as simple and straightforward as it used to be back when you could just crouch under the Cyclops, but I'm curious how it's done now. I imagine you don't just run into each room blazing

Hi Ryan, No, there really isn't a way to make it all the way through a level without taking any damage. Even if you duck/crouch some of the enemies shots will miss you, but they will quickly adjust their aim and shoot/stab you where you are. So it is best to do a quick duck, stand, jump, etc

Tom... I will say this now, before it slips my mind. If this game really needed a grade, it'd get an A from me, no question. If what I've seen and played is only a small snipet... then I truly cannot wait. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send

Hi Michael, I can say for sure I don't want to dumb the game down or compromise its challenge factor. In fact, Beta 2 is in its own way more challenging then beta 1 since I have now made it impossible to crouch down and let everything and everything miss you. Enemies will hit you if you are in

Hi, I'm not saying your idea is a bad one, but I have no plans to add a sword to sword combat system in MOTA at this time. I love realism as best as the next guy, but I also have to begin thinking priorities too. I have pretty much decided June is the cut off date for development on this

Hi Dark, Yeah, it has been something I've wanted to work on for a while, but never took the time to really look into. However, now that the beta is out and people are flooding my inbox to do this and that it seams I should get this done fairly soon as the game needs to have this resolved to

Hi Tom. Sounds like a good idea. One thing I've noticed though in Mota is you get hit immediately as the sound of the enemy's attack plays, unless you are ducking, there is no option to here it and jump backwards or duck. There is certainly an option to move betwene the enemy's

Hi Dark, We have plans to upgrade the enemy AI for the game. Hopefully when we get done you should have more ability to dodge attacks, but on the other hand remaining in one place for too long, such as crouching, can get you killed. So we are hoping to get that done fairly soon. dark wrote:
