Howdy gamers:

Here's what's going on.

Duck Hunt 1.2:

You may or may not know, but I've released duck Hunt 1.2 which takes
advantage of Streemway, as well as having the I K J and L navigation like in
other games.

Website attacks:

Apparently a number of bluehost customers were affected by an attack on the
bluehost servers. I was not spared and had to clean up the mess. The site
should now be virus free, as well. Scoreboards for all the games should work
correctly. If there is a board that is not working, please let me know.

orders and replacement keys:

Apparently There have been some people who have either: 1. not gotten
replacements keys, and 2. not even gotten order confirmations with keys.
If you or someone you know falls in to one of these categories, please email
me at l...@l-works.net.
I want to make sure these outstanding issues get resolved as quick as
possible.

new licensing system:

I have talked about it before, but this month when free tiem permits, I
will be working on an update to the machine-based system. I want to replace
it with a user ID and key system. I feel the current system is way to
restrictive, and is unfair to users who own a laptop, or a netbook. I will
hopefully have more info about tha tin July. Writing a new system is going
to take a bit of time, but I feel it will be worth it for everyone in the
long-run.

Sounds like your getting things fixed which is good.

I must confess I do like the idea of a new system, sinse I've not been able
to play jd or superliam on my desktop ever sinse my original desktop
exploded in 2008, which is somewhat irritating.

Right now the audio demo is still the same old one, but I will be releasing
something before the game is released. There are still things I have to add
and change, so once the main game is finalized, I'll be recording some audio
from it. I think it'll be worth the wait.
There are a lot of new features I've added since the last audio demo.

This is really good news! I hope you'll be able to release the game on the
8th of December, however it doesn't matter if it'll be released a few days

the audio demo been updated? I'm asking because in the audio demo I know
there were things you wanted to change, so has it been updated? Have you

Here is the latest news from Lworks.

Judgment Day release date announced:

Our latest game Judgment day now has a definite release date. The game will
be released December 8th. The game retails for $25 and more info as well as
an audio demonstration can be found on the Judgment Day Page at
www.l-works.net/judgmentday.php

it is the year 2015, and the world is at war. This war has been the most
catastrophic to humanity. Two powers are fighting for control. The allies
and a
group of nations calling themselves The Supreme Evil. Little is known about
this group and it's motives, but one thing is clear. This group has advanced
weaponry. Over several months, the Allies have been slowly destroyed by
strange and lethal weaponry. The commander of the Supreme Evil known as
Supreme
Commander Ather has quickly dispatched several countrys in the span of a few
months. In one last effort to retain any hope, the allies have gathered all
their forces in one area. A defensive station was built, and plans were made
to finally lay the Supreme evil to rest. However, this task may prove to be
harder than one thinks. and this is where you come in. Your job is to fend
off the group of The Supreme Evil's forces, as well as deal With supreme
Commander
Ather.

You command the only allied defensive post left. Your job is to fend off the
enemies. Compared to the Supreme evil, your weapons are primative. However,
they can be effective. You are given a machine gun with unlimitted shells, a
supply of rockets, and a small supply of sky clearing nukes. Your crew will
do there best to keep the base undamaged. If there's no damage, they may
even find time to replentish your nukes and rockets if you're running low.

the game will include.
. 10 levels of play plus a boss level where you get to take on Supreme
commander Ather himself
. 3 levels of difficulty
. a trophy system allowing you to earn awards for performing certain tasks
in the game
. 4 unlockable bonus levels
. an unlockable ending for collecting enough trophys
. an unlockable ultra difficulty setting
. online score support to post your scores to all bonus games and difficulty
levels
. and more!

Preordering for Judgment Day:

If for what ever reason you want to purchase the game earlier at reduced
price, this is totally possible. LWorks will start offering the ability to
purchase a preordered version of Judgment Day from the store at some point
this weekend. The benefit to buying earlier is that you will be the very
first to receive a download of the game as soon as it is released. Beat the
rush when it comes to downloading. Also, the game retails for $25, but if
you buy early, we'll knock 20 percent off the normal purchase price. I
understand there are some misgivings when it comes to preordering. Lworks
will insure that on December 8, there is a completed and bug free copy of
Judgment day for you to play.

Lworks
will insure that on December 8, there is a completed and bug free copy of
Judgment day for you to play.

is is to have it done and give it to people who preorder a day in advance
 so
they can get decent speeds off the server before everyone else bombards
 it.

 This is great!

It sounds like we're getting something fairly wonderful here, even though
it's another space invaders audio game, the unlockables, different
 weaponry
 etc sound great!

I particularly look forward to unlocking the different cut scenes.

I might well pre-order the game myself, not just for the three quid
discount, but also so that I can get to play it streight away. - grin.

Pluss, after Judgement day isdone Liam, you can finish the developement of
 superliam 2, Grin.

Seriously, congrats on getting the game finished, and I look forward to
 trying it out.

 will
do there best to keep the base undamaged. If there's no damage, they may
even find time to replentish your nukes and rockets if you're running low.

commander Ather himself . 3 levels of difficulty . a trophy system
 allowing
you to earn awards for performing certain tasks in the game . 4 unlockable

When I compile the final set up, I should have a better idea of how much
it'll be.

Hi Liam,
If memory serves me correctly I believe you were offering a contest to guess
the download size of the game. Is there any news or a winner of said
contest?

Thanks

Right now the audio demo is still the same old one, but I will be
releasing
something before the game is released. There are still things I have to
add
and change, so once the main game is finalized, I'll be recording some
audio
from it. I think it'll be worth the wait.
There are a lot of new features I've added since the last audio demo.

   Hi Liam,
This is really good news! I hope you'll be able to release the game
on
  the
8th of December, however it doesn't matter if it'll be released a
few
  days
later of course. I'm sure it'll be a great game, like all the other
   L-Works
games. I can't wait to download and play this game! Just one
question,
  has
the audio demo been updated? I'm asking because in the audio demo I
   know
there were things you wanted to change, so has it been updated? Have
   you
added new features to the game that were not in the demo?
   Robin.
